The doors creaked open, revealing a vast interior filled with bustling activity. Malphas could hear the clanging of metal, the hum of arcane energies, and the sound of voices raised in debate and discussion. His senses were overwhelmed by the sheer scale of this place, and he felt a thrill of excitement run through him as he stepped inside.
As they made their way through the winding corridors, they were greeted by an endless stream of people. Men and women of all shapes and sizes, each part of the guild, bustled past them with a sense of purpose and urgency.
Inching their way to the front desk to inquire about joining the guild. At last, they arrived at the front desk, where a stern-looking woman with a clipboard stood waiting. Malphas approached her, his eyes gleaming with an intense curiosity.
"Greetings, fair lady," he said, his voice ringing out with a commanding authority.
"Of course, it's a 3-hour wait."
Malphas's face twisted into a look of disbelief at the woman's response. Three hours?! How could they wait so long when they had so much to accomplish?
"But surely there must be some way to expedite the process?" he asked, his voice laced with a hint of frustration.
The woman raised an eyebrow at him, unimpressed by his attempts at charm. "I'm afraid not. Everyone has to wait their turn."
Malphas sighed, his mind racing with thoughts of all the tasks they needed to complete. He turned to his entourage, a determined look on his face.
"Very well, we shall wait. But let us not waste this time.
With a grandiose gesture, Malphas and his illustrious entourage made their way towards the plush velvet seats, every step resonating with a sense of regality and power. As they lowered themselves onto the cushions, the fabric seemed to mold around their bodies, cradling them in a cocoon of luxurious comfort. Their minds raced with a dizzying array of schemes and machinations, each one more intricate and cunning than the last, their thoughts colliding like fireworks in the night sky.
Their voices rang out in a symphony of pride and fervor as they exchanged tales of past conquests, their words imbued with a palpable sense of passion and excitement. Each member of the entourage sought to outdo the others, driven by a relentless desire to impress Lord Malphas and earn his favor. Amidst this cacophony of voices, Lilith and Naamah drew near to Malphas, their curves accentuated by their tight embrace. They whispered sweet nothings into his ear, their bosoms pressing tantalizingly close to his chest, their feminine charms on full display.
Bystanders watched on in awe and bewilderment, captivated by the sheer magnetism of the group. Many wondered what it was that set Malphas apart from other adventurers, what made him so worthy of this legion of followers. And yet, as envy coursed through the hearts of those around him, they couldn't help but be drawn in by the allure of this band of regal outcasts.
As they sat in their opulent seats, basking in the glow of their collective glory, a man from a nearby party approached Lilith with a flirtatious grin. He was one of 30 adventurers, but to Lilith, he was just another face in the crowd. With a subtle tilt of her head and a sly smile on her lips, she turned to face him, her beauty and grace leaving him entranced. He couldn't resist her charms, and as he fell under her spell, he realized that he was just one of many who would be captivated by the allure of Malphas and his entourage.
"Hi how are you doing baby,"
"I'm quite well, thank you," she replied, her voice a smooth purr that sent shivers down the man's spine. "And how may I assist you, kind sir?"
The man stumbled over his words, clearly taken aback by Lilith's beauty and charisma. But he quickly regained his composure and rallied his companions around him, determined to impress her with tales of their own exploits.
"I am a high-level five adventurer. I have gone to the 7th level of the dungeon. I am obviously stronger than this man you cling to. So why don't you come with me?"
Lilith's eyes sparkled with amusement at the man's audacity. "Oh, I'm sorry, sir," she said, feigning innocence. "But you see, I already have everything I need right here." She gestured towards Malphas, kissing him on the cheek, who had been watching the exchange with amusement.
"Well, that doesn't matter. You are..."The adventurer said, reaching out to grab Lilith's arm, coming up just short with a single touch
But before he could say or do anything else, time stopped, and Malphas rose from the seat to the adventurer's side. "Did you think you could touch her," Malphas whispered into the adventurer's ears.
The man froze in fear, realizing his mistake too late. Malphas' voice was low and dangerous, carrying with it an air of authority and power that left no room for argument.
"Let me make one thing clear to you, sir," Malphas continued, his eyes locked on the man's. "No one touches what belongs to me. Lilith and Naamah are under my protection, and I will not tolerate anyone who seeks to harm or disrespect them."
The man stammered an apology, his eyes darting nervously around the room. He had never seen someone with such commanding presence before, and he knew that he had made a grave error in judgment.
With a dismissive wave of his hand, Malphas returned to his seat, and time resumed its normal flow. The man and his party quickly made their exit, their heads hung in shame and embarrassment.
As Malphas settled back into his seat, Lilith and Naamah leaned in close to him, their bodies pressed intimately against his own. It was clear to everyone in the room that they were his closest allies, his most trusted confidants, and his most prized possessions.
As the moments ticked by, anticipation mounted, each passing second feeling like an eternity. And then, finally, their turn arrived. Malphas rose to his feet, his eyes fixed on the guild recruiter, his jaw set in determination. The recruiter, sensing the gravity of the moment, stood up from his work, his hand extended in greeting.
"Welcome, Lord Malphas," he said, his voice reverent. "Please, take this knife, paper, and pen. Cut your finger and press it here. Once I inspect you, you will sign on the dotted line if you are eligible. Understood?"
Malphas nodded curtly, taking the proffered implements with a steady hand. But as he tried to cut his finger, he was met with unexpected resistance. The knife was dull and unyielding, incapable of puncturing his skin. Malphas felt a flicker of annoyance, knowing that he needed to make a good impression on the recruiter and his lord. Without missing a beat, he reached behind his back, drawing forth a knife that shimmered with otherworldly energy.
"Don't worry," he said smoothly, his eyes meeting the recruiter's without flinching. "I have a knife on me." With a deft flick of his wrist, he brandished the enchanted blade, its razor-sharp edge glinting in the light.
As the recruiter took the blood print paper from Malphas, his eyes bulged in disbelief, his jaw dropping in astonishment. He scanned the paper, his eyes darting back and forth as he tried to make sense of the dizzying array of numbers and symbols before him.
"You have 10 abnormal abilities, 5 legendary abilities, 34...wait, this has to be a mistake! There's no way you are this powerful! Even the highest-ranking adventurer on this planet doesn't have more than three abnormal abilities! How is this possible? Most people here only have a rare ability!" he exclaimed, his voice trembling with shock.
Malphas simply smiled, his expression calm and collected as he gazed at the flustered recruiter. With a casual gesture, he reached out and touched the man's forehead, sending a jolt of energy coursing through his body.
"Well, you see," he said, his voice dripping with honeyed charm. "I only have one ability, and it's just a basic rare. The rest is just… don't exist."
The recruiter's eyes widened even further, if that was even possible, as he struggled to comprehend the sheer magnitude of Malphas's power. And yet, despite his astonishment, he managed to compose himself, nodding in approval as he handed Malphas the pen to sign on the dotted line.
"Okay, Lord Malphas," the recruiter said respectfully. "You meet all the requirements. Can you please sign here?" Malphas signed the document confidently, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his cause. As he turned to leave, there was a palpable sense of excitement in the air, as if great things were on the horizon. For Malphas and his followers, the sky was the limit, and nothing could stand in their way.
"Can you hold on a moment?" Malphas said, pausing at the door. "I have something for you to give to others like me." He handed the recruiter a knife with intricate runes and symbols etched into the handle. "It's important that they get this."
The recruiter nodded, eyes widening as he took in the craftsmanship of the blade. It felt sturdy and powerful in his hand, almost like it had a life of its own.
As Malphas left the room, the atmosphere seemed to change, humming with an energy that was almost otherworldly. The walls themselves seemed to pulse with some kind of force that was beyond human comprehension.
The next person in his entourage entered till all 15 of them were done, before maing a party amongst eachother officially. With each member of Malphas' entourage completing their registration with the guild, the energy in the room only grew more intense. The air was thick with a palpable sense of anticipation, as if the very fabric of reality was being stretched to its limits.
As each member of the entourage left the room, the recruiter could feel their power radiating from them like a beacon, their auras so strong and vibrant that it was almost blinding to look upon them directly.
But when all 15 members of the entourage had completed their registration, they came together as one, forming a party that was greater than the sum of its parts. The air crackled with a new kind of energy, one that was born of camaraderie and unity, a force that was greater than any individual could hope to achieve on their own.
With Malphas at the helm, the party set out into the world, their eyes fixed firmly on their goal. They were a force to be reckoned with, a group of warriors whose power was unmatched by any other. And as they journeyed forth, their power only grew stronger, their spirits unbreakable, their will unyielding.
"So how do Adventurers earn money?" Malphas askes the lady at the front desk.
