Victoria pushed a chair out and asked Dylan to sit down before she went to pour a glass of water. Offering it to him, she sat opposite him.

"Listen to me carefully. I know you're hurt, but you should be channeling it somewhere else, not at the woman who is supposed to be used as bait," Victoria spoke with calmness, her eyes looking at Dylan.

She had no interest in getting any revenge whatsoever for him; she just wanted to get money from Victor, change her identity, and disappear forever. She didn't know things would escalate so quickly, and she had angered Raven gravely. She wasn't ready to face his wrath. Last time, he let her off easily by making sure she didn't get admission into any college, but right now she knew she had bitten off more than she could chew, and it was time to lay low.

The problem was Dylan, who was focused on fighting Raven or whatever idea he'd been cooking up in his drunken mind.
