"Take care of yourself and call me when you come back," Old Bat helped Maya pack her bags.

Maya turned to look at her son one more time. "Is it really okay if I go? What about Jason? You will have to go back and forth to take him to school and pick him up."

Old Bat sighed. Since the previous night when Maya discussed going to the workshop, this had been the issue; she had never left her son for a whole day before.

"Maya, it's just for one day and Jason will be fine. I'm sure he will be more than excited to stay with his grandma," Old Bat remarked, going to bring the snacks she packed and handing them over to Maya.

"Share with your friends, and maybe your boss too." She cleared her throat. Maya was no longer rigid when it came to talking about Victor. Old Bat smiled; it was a big progress.

Maya sighed again. "Are you really sure I can leave Jason? Maybe I should take him with-"
