章 6: Prism

Stardew Forest - 8:00 - Training - Day Two

" Feebas, today you're racing up the stream. You get a ten-minute pause each time you're back. "

*Blop Blop*

Feebas did the same weird nod as yesterday and started to go against the current. It is the same training, albeit harder.

Of course, with weights, otherwise, it's useless.

I sat down against a tree and started thinking. I am proficient enough at controlling small quantities of my Mental Power and using the -HyperState- and -HyperFocus-.

So I need to create a new move or use known Pokemon ones. I already have a few techniques in mind, being -Barrier-, -Pressure-, -Gravity- and -Sense-.

You should know what they do according to their names.

-Barrier- raises a Mental Power wall for defensive purposes, and if good enough, it can be an attack.

-Pressure- puts a certain amount of strain on the victim's mind.

-Gravity- increases the pressure on one's body, but it doesn't manipulate gravity itself.

And -Sense- forms a sphere with me as its center by spreading out my Mental Power. I can feel everything within its range. It's like En in HxH, again.

' System, I selected these abilities because I thought they would be easy enough for me. Is my thinking correct, or should I do something else? '

[ They are indeed suited for you. These are easy to get started with, and the early stages are unrefined and rough in the manipulation of Mental Power. Training them is also beneficial, mainly in handling your Mental Power in different ways. ]

Hmmm. As expected, my IQ is over nine thousand.

I'll start with -Sense-, it should be easier than -Barrier-, and I'm too lazy to look for any animal or Pokemon to use -Pressure- or -Gravity- on.

I adjusted my position and straightened my back before activating -HyperFocus-. It helps for almost anything.

Seeing the world around me slowing down. I closed my eyes and started

stretching out my Mental Power to the surroundings evenly.

The process was painfully slow. I had to concentrate on every bit of Mental Power to keep the sphere from getting disrupted.

I even had to calibrate the intensity of my Mental Power. It has to be as clear and light as possible.

It needs to have minimal contact with the physical world.

If too dense, the Mental Power would get disturbed at the touch of any matter and ultimately dissipate.

*Plop*

My Mental Power bubble collapsed once it reached a radius of one meter. I can't stretch it too far, or I'll lose control.

*Huf Huf*

" Man, I'm exhausted. "

I raised my head and looked towards the stream. Feebas was rushing towards me, seemingly looking for her rainbow milk.

I gave her what she wanted and dropped down on the grass.

Staring at the clouds, I started thinking about Orange. I wonder what she is doing. I hope she is training seriously.

Feebas soon emptied her bowl and started floating on my abdomen, looking at me.

She did nothing, so I started stroking her scales? Skin? It feels like both, weird.

' System, show me Feebas' Status. '

[ Name: Feebas

Gender: Female

Type: Water

Condition: Tired

Potential: Excellent

Ability: Adaptability

Level: Three

Total Base Stats: Two hundred

Moves: Splash, Dragon-Breath, Haze ]

She is getting better. I should start training her moves tomorrow and find some Pokemons to duel with after that.

We'll be keeping on doing the basics for today.

By the way, Alolan-Vulpix is of Ice-Type. Maybe Feebas can learn -Iron Tail- these days.

In case you didn't know, Steel-Type is Super Effective against Ice-Type.

" Alright, Feebas, let's continue our training. "

I then joined and continued to train my Psychic abilities.

Stardew Forest - 8:00 - Training - Day Three

" Hey, focus! you'll be training your moves today! "

Feebas was on my head. I think we hit it off too much. She doesn't want to move anymore.

*Bloop*

She lazily replied with noises. I should probably learn -Telepathy- someday.

Feebas then floated down in front of me, looking at me with its dead eyes. Still not motivated.

Maybe yesterday's training was too hard.

" Look, Feebas, today's training won't be as hard as yesterday's, just getting used to different moves. "

It still looked at me with the same eyes.

" If you get stronger faster, you will be able to grow more beautiful and evolve into a majestic Milotic. Isn't that great? "

Feebas' eyes started shining, but it still was not enough.

I took the Prism Scale from nowhere and showed it to her.

" Look, this is a Prism Scale. Wearing it allows you to evolve directly after reaching a certain point. It will only work if you are mature enough. "

Feebas was now trembling, almost throwing an -Earthquake-. She looked at me with so much anticipation that I wanted to make her evolve now.

But I can't. Evolving a Pokemon before reaching adulthood will only stunt its growth and ultimately reduce its potential.

' By the way, System, the move -Splash- doesn't exist in this world. After all, it is just some random useless movement. It exists in the game because Pokemons don't move there, despite not having any effect. Can you erase it from Feebas' Move list? '

[ Host is right. It does not exist. I will take it off. ]

' Thank you. '

" Alright, girl. use -Dragon Breath- on that tree. "

I point at a tree not far and start using -HyperFocus-. It will be easier to see if anything is wrong.

Feebas took a deep breath. -Dragon Breath- is a move she'd known since birth. It is like instinct, so pulling it is not that hard.

Converting her stamina into Dragon-type Energy, she gathered it in her lungs. Wait, no, what? Where are her gills? Does she have lungs?

Anyways, I was saying. Feebas gathered the Dragon-Type energy into her lungs and breathed it out with all her power.

Deep blue flames came out of her mouth, starting in a straight path, before expanding outwards, hitting the tree with a loud noise.

The poor tree was missing a part of its trunk, almost making it collapse on the ground.

It seems Pokemon here are much stronger than I thought. A mere Level five Pokemon did this much damage for its first time.

And we are talking about a Feebas, one of the weakest. The tree may not be the most solid, being normal, but it counts.

I could crack open it with a good punch.

Feebas then wobbled towards me. She seems to have put everything on the attack.

I took her off the ground and on my hand and started to feed her rainbow milk.

After a five-minute rest, she started again, this time with -Haze-.

-Haze- is a move that removes the changed stats of any Pokemon that touches it. Now that it is not a game, It can only affect Pokemons according to the energy used.

For example, a Level thirty Milotic using -Haze- could probably lift the stats changes on a Level forty-five if used at full power, exhausting the Milotic.

Feebas was Focusing again, and soon, a black mist began to seep out of her mouth.

The mist was thin, indicating its low power.

I reached out with my hand to touch it. As soon as I made contact, I felt my body going cold for a second. But nothing happened in the end.

The mist dissipated a few moments later, revealing a fine Feebas, not tired or anything. This move doesn't seem to take much of her stamina.

" Well done, Feebas. Here is some rainbow milk. "

She started to drink while I talked.

" Your two moves look fine, but they can be better. For the -Dragon Breath- you have to learn to focus it on one point or spread it out in a large area while also controlling its power. Having the choice of whether to make it strong or weak at will. "

She stopped drinking and looked at me, curious about what I was about to say about -Haze-.

" For -Haze-, it doesn't have much development besides making the mist denser and more potent, but you need to learn how to direct it. You don't want to remove your ally's boosted stats. The same goes for your enemy's lowered stats. "

While my training methods are merely common sense, Not everyone can maximize its effects. Just having Pokeblocks makes my Pokemons the best.

Then there are some things that people don't seem to realize, and we'll get to it later.

" Feebas, today you'll be repeating the two moves while keeping what I said in mind. "

Feebas tilted her body up and down to nod and went near the stream to train. I then sat against a tree and resumed my Psychic training.

I can now maintain a -Sense- with a two meters radius for hours before tiring out, so I'll put it on passive for training at all times and begin with -Barrier-.

As a beginner, shaping my Mental Power into a proper -Barrier- is impossible. Fortunately, -Barrier- doesn't require any shaping, if only for optimization later on.

As long as I can materialize my Metal power into a solid substance, it can be considered a success.

It seems to be more advanced than other techniques like -Telekinesis- and others, but it only requires pure power and almost no control.

And I have quite a lot of Mental Power for a beginner.

Getting started, I put my hand in front of me and concentrated. Red-pink Mental Power gathered above it.

The fluid started to turn deeper in color until turning completely solid. It looks like colored glass.

It can be considered a success. And my Mental Power is still plenty.

I continued training while Feebas was executing her moves and sometimes doing the stream racing.

The day soon came to an end.

Stardew Forest - 8:00 - Training - Day Four

Feebas was still on my head, albeit not tired but motivated.

I grabbed her body and threw her on the grass.

" Feebas! Today you are hunting Pokemons! "

It looked at me weirdly.

" Don't look at me like that. Let's go. There should be some nearby. "

I proceeded to walk out of the clearing and into the forest, with Feebas trailing behind.

We walked in randomly for two minutes before encountering a small Zigzagoon.

It looks so weak. It should be enough for Feebas.

" You see that Zigzagoon? "

Feebas made some weird noises, probably a yes.

" Go all out, kill it. "

That's right. I want the Zigzagoon dead.

Trainers have some problems, whether in this world or the original Pokemon universe.

In both worlds, killing Pokemons is prohibited by the law. And whether it is an orthodox trainer or a criminal, they don't kill pokemons. The latter usually go for abducting them.

If you don't go for the kill, how can you go all out in a fight? And if you don't go all out, how can you even progress?

Going against the law here doesn't matter. I may love my Feebas, but I don't care about the other ones, you get me?

And as an extra, she gets to eat Pokemon meat, an excellent supplement paired with the Pokeblock.

It is impossible to find Pokemon meat, except in the deepest part of the black market maybe. Even then, human consumption is the priority.

What does it matter to kill some Zigzagoon anyways, it is so ugly, and they are of the same kind as those Rattatas.

Constantly reproducing, those parasites are so numerous, There are probably a few billion scattered around the globe.

I'm saying that, but I'd do the same to any Pokemon I'm training on without caring about their rarity.

Of course, there are some exceptions. Being cute is one.

Pokemons eat each other anyways. They don't target humans for some reason.

How should I convince Orange to do the same? I can't have her Pokemons staying weak all their lives.

As for the second issue, it is even worse.
