"Urgent news!"
Alpha burst into the room, clearly distressed. What now? Had someone stirred up trouble again?
"Speak."
"It's a drought!"
Ah, a drought. But this was a prime opportunity to earn a favor from the king.
"Well done," I replied, nodding approvingly.
With that, I headed straight to the king's chamber.
"Hello," I greeted him.
"You again?"
The guards didn't react today, which was a bit of a letdown. Their routine surprise always entertained me.
"There's a drought, I heard. I've crafted a thousand perpetual watering cans to help, and I'll top off the giant mana stone with energy while I'm at it. Consider this another favor."
"Very well. I'll owe you one," the king replied with a resigned nod.
