Steffan felt relieved that at least Lauren wasn't dating George rather he was the one who's been engaged to her.

He wanted to warn her that although they were not dating, his manly instinct told him that George was in love with Lauren, but it could also be the same as Dolly's, so he kept it to himself. 

The most important thing now was that they had been in love, and that connection, no matter how lost in the fog of his amnesia it was, had to mean something. He couldn't let go of the idea that somewhere deep inside him, the man who had loved Lauren still existed.
