"So? Is First-High School confident in winning this year; specifically in the newcomer's division?" (Masaki)
Masaki had a small on his face as he questioned Erik; if their First-year participants had the necessary skills to be able to win in the newcomer's division.
While this may seem like a healthy provocation; in reality, the young man was trying to collect some information about any potential danger to his school's participants.
Masaki didn't have any hopes about tricking Erik using wordplay...the man in front of him was a businessman for god's sake!
But there is no harm in trying, right?
Erik let out an amused smile as he took a sip from the glass with his hand.
"Hm....already collecting information for any potential challengers, I see!" (Erik)
"I got caught huh? Haha!...." (Masaki)
Masaki wasn't worried that he got found out; he just laughed it off since both of them knew that it wasn't a big issue.
Furthermore, Erik decided to humor him with some information.
"Well...let's just say that this year, the competition will be extremely challenging." (Erik)
"Is that so? I am looking forward to it then!" (Masaki)
Hearing Erik's words, a charming smile appeared on Masaki's face as he fantasized about the upcoming battles.
Masaki was a battle junkie, he had killed well-trained soldiers at the mere age of 13; when the Great Asian Union attacked Japan.
That killing and senseless murder tainted the 13-year old child causing him to develop a suppressed alter ego which would get triggered at the thought of fighting a powerful opponent.
No matter how much Masaki tried to suppress his desires, in front of Erik; nothing could remain hidden for long.
'I feel pity for you, Masaki.'
'What kind of a father would take their 13-year old child to war?'
'What kind of a father would wish for his son to murder others in the name of senseless bravado?'
'What kind of sick government would give him a title rather than condemning the crimes of the father?'
'Why do children need to go through this?'
Such actions may look cool to the viewers but will "you" ever allow "your" child to kill another being at the tender age of 13-years?

Here, let me tell you.
Fugaku took Itachi to war; to show him the cruelty of humans, the latter later murdered his entire clan except for his younger brother.
And what I want you to focus on is the fact that Itachi was constantly tortured by the consequences of his actions; until his very death!
'How come these people not understand that they are just contributing to their offspring's impending doom!?'
'And the worst thing about this is that they behave as if it is all-natural.'
'As if it is natural to raise your son for the sole purpose of murder or being a weapon!'
'What a bunch of sick fucks!'
Such behavior repulsed Erik, it churned his insides to even think about these things.
It also gave birth to a wave of raging anger within him which only further strengthened his belief in his plans.

Erik and Co.'s attention was attracted to the sudden commotion within the event hall.
A pale boy with gentle, yet delicate features that would not be mistaken for a girl; entered the hall.
His ocean-blue eyes had a strange glow within them which seemed to compliment his ocean short ocean blue hair.
His physical appearance easily attracted others' attention in the same way Miyuki's does.
His ethereal and otherworldly beauty was very striking, just like Miyuki's, probably due to their similar backgrounds.
"Kudou Minoru?" (George)
George muttered in a low tone as he recognized the newcomer.
Minoru turned towards Erik and Co. as a happy smile appeared on his face, he directly ignored the other students trying to talk to him and moved towards them.
"Senior Erik, I am glad to see you are finally here!" (Minoru)
He had an excited expression on his face as he looked towards his benefactor.
Minoru used to be an empty shell of himself but it was Erik who healed his body and helped him regain his confidence.
Once he was healed, his father and family started treating him better and he loved this newfound feeling!
And all of this was only possible because Erik decided to help him.
He had nothing but respect and admiration towards Erik Saltzman and considered the latter as his Senior brother and mentor.
"Haha!...some complications occurred which delayed First-High School participants." (Erik)
Erik's demeanor excluded a calming feeling which helped the excited Minoru relax his nerves.
"Oh! I see..." (Minoru)
Knowing that Minoru was paying attention, Erik decided to introduce him to his newfound "friends".
"This is Kichijouji Shinkurou and Ichijou Masaki." (Erik)
"Greetings! How are both of you doing?" (Minoru)
Even though Minoru had ignored the duo in the beginning, he engaged in a normal conversation with any awkwardness behind his tone.
This just goes to show how very versed he was in diplomacy; a useful trait he acquired from his grandfather.
His words excluded the feeling of confidence and pride; worthy of being Kudou Retsu's grandson!
"I am fine, Kudou-san." (Masaki)
"We were just discussing the potential rivalries that would be formed during the tournament." (Masaki)
Masaki didn't take any offense from Minoru's behavior; he was Retsu's grandson, he certainly didn't need to be polite with others.
"That's interesting!" (Minoru)
Minoru had an intrigued expression on his face.
"Minoru, George here is a talented individual who documented the existence of [Cardinal Codes]." (Erik)
Erik decided to help prolonge their conversation by adding a spicy topic to discuss.
"He combined with Masaki-san make a very formidable combination; I am looking forward to seeing you combat them." (Erik)
"That goes for you two also, Minoru here is one 'strong' magician. I am looking forward to seeing how well you guys compete with each other." (Erik)
"Haha! I am taking your word for it, Erik-san." (Masaki)
"We are looking forward to facing Kudou-san in battle, isn't it right George?" (Masaki)
"You bet!" (George)
"Well, the feelings are mutual Ichijou-san & George-san." (Minoru)
One could feel the sparks of rivalry flying all around them!
