Jia geared herself the next day. She was still in the custody room, waiting for Huojin to come in and fetch her to the court. She was uncertain about the outcome but not regretful about her decision.

She breathed out when the door opened with Huojin and Tang Haitao walking in. She nodded as it was time but instead Tang Haitao said, "There is no need, Song Jia."

He came forward and slid something towards her.

She blinked. "Sir Tang, I don't think you should be passing me a destructive weapon like a gun to a detainee."
