章 24: Second Negotiation

Sandhya said, "King Adi had already ordered that they will not be able to move around freely, so no need to think more about it. Just focus all energy on repairing the ship and getting some rest. It has been many days since we left home, they would be worrying about us. We need to get back as soon as possible."

Harman assented, "We will do as you command Your Highness."

On the other side, Adi was smiling while gazing blankly in space.

Just now, Adi was notified by the System.

"Ding"

"Host has shared his ideas of development and welfare and it affects the Princess of Magadh."

"Host's actions have initiated a change in Princess' thought process."

"Calculating rewards…"

As the System started to calculate the rewards, Adi interrupted it, "Wait System, I have some ideas that I want to share with you. "

System stopped its calculation and diverted its full attention to its host Adi to listen to his ideas.

Adi asked, "System, will you reward me with Bonus Points?"

System replied, "Yes Host, all the changes in morals which were affected or started by you are calculated in figures and then Bonus Points are given."

Adi nodded and asked again, "What is the use of Bonus Points, except buying information?"

System replied, "Bonus Points can only be used to get knowledge, whereas Mission Points can be used to increase your level get some special custom purchases."

Adi replied, "System, if Bonus Points has only use of buying Knowledge, then I think you can stop giving it."

System thought that Adi was disregarding or disdaining its process so it replied with slight anger, "What do you mean by this Host? Do you think Bonus points or knowledge is not important?"

Adi could hear the anger in its tone and wondered how a system can get angry. But he pushed these thoughts aside and explained, "I am not saying that System. I wanted to say that as you have already deployed sub-modules, and many types of information are required by the ministers on daily basis, it will be a hassle to always keep in mind the Bonus points and purchase information according to it.

So it is better to eliminate this process so that the process can be smooth. On the other hand, the Mission points can be the only points as it will increase my levels and I don't have to think too much about it."

System, still in anger, said, "And how is this possible? System has already reminded host that everything needs to be based on equal exchange and now you are asking all the information for free?"

Adi denied quickly, "No no, I am not asking it for free. I am just asking to simplify the process. You can still categorize the knowledge on the basis of my levels, and once I reach the levels using Mission points, I may be given access to the corresponding knowledge. Otherwise, I don't seem to find any other usage of Levels you have shown."

System considered what Adi said for a moment and argued, "The system understands your logic, but the levels are important and you will know its usage later."

But Adi did not back down, "But system, currently it is still useless. What will I do even after increasing levels and why will I increase levels if there is no current usage? So to keep the importance of levels, you need to give some benefits."

System has no answer to Adi's question. Adi was correct that the levels were currently useless, but he did not know that in future, at higher levels, he will get to know many new things. System considered Adi's words as his arguments that bonus points and using it to buy knowledge one by one is surely complex and System finds it a hassle too.

These calculations always disturb itself from rest and now Adi's words have shown it a chance to decrease its workload and slack off more.

System quickly checked its protocols to see if the process can be changed and Bonus points be deleted from the process. It did not find any command which showed it was a fix part of process.

So system replied to Adi after a couple of minutes, "System has considered Hosts' arguments and found that they are reasonable. System will now remove Bonus points from the process and make information available at the different levels."

"Ding"

"Bonus Points removed"

"Knowledge and information divided with respect to different factors"

"Knowledge packs added to Host levels"

"Process change completed"

"As the Bonus point step has been removed, no rewards for change in future will be provided"

"All knowledge from Level 1 is being transferred to Host"

"Transferring...

... Transfer complete"

"Host should use the information with discretion"

Adi was smiling when it heard that system has accepted its logic. But as the system transferred the information pack to him, his head got so painful that he was knocked out cold on the bed."

System was aware of Adi losing consciousness and it smiled coldly. Although Adi was little sly and also got what he wanted, System had kept it recorded in its little book. Now, this was one of its payback.

As Adi lost consciousness because of overload of information, and there was no danger to him, the system played this prank.

Adi soon regained his consciousness. He was a little groggy and his head still ached. He could only hold his head with both hands as he asked, "System what was that? At least give me a warning and release it slowly."

System replied in a mechanical voice, "The system has just renewed its process and there might be some errors. Host is requested to not mind these small inconveniences. "

By now, Adi understood that System did it in an act of taking revenge. He wanted to curse it loud, but the system warned.

"Warning"

"Host should refrain from swearing or screaming at System, or else there will be consequences."

Systems warning sent a shiver down Adi's spine. He stopped himself from swearing and started breathing deeply to calm himself down. The head ache and his shivering back gradually returned normal as Adi became calm.

He reminded himself that he is no more in his world and is now at the mercy of system. Even if he can get some advantages from it, he has to treat the system with respect and give it the importance it demanded.

The system knew what was going on and was satisfied with its host. It has shown its host that the system cannot be taken lightly and deserved respect and awe. After all, it was personally made by the Creator.

As Adi calmed down and was normal once again, he asked, "System, what were the uses of levels you were talking about earlier?"

System replied, "Host does not have enough level or authority to get this answer. Host will know in future in due time."

Adi asked again, "At what level will I have enough authority to know the answer?"

System replied, "Host does not have enough authority."

Adi was not happy with the reply. He asked, "What is my authority then?"

System said, "Host's current authority is newbie as not even one main mission has been completed. Complete more missions, level up and you will have enough authority then."

Adi asked curiously, "Will I have enough authority to do anything with you?"

System scoffed, "Keep dreaming."

Adi was bummed up from the answer. Well, at least he now knew that levels increased the authority. He also got to know that maybe there are some mysterious things which are not known to public and even the System is hiding it.

Shaking his head and stopping his train of thoughts from going more astray, Adi thought inwardly, 'I will know all things in due time. I don't have to be in hurry or something. For now, I have to focus on the task at hand.'

Adi then quickly checked the information package he received and quickly went through it. It contained all the basic information in almost every field, from agriculture to metallurgy, from army to police, from science to economics. Hell, it even contained philosophy and literature.

It was a complete package in itself which could help any kingdom to start the industrial process. For the current Rai, this goal was still few giants' steps ahead.

As he was checking and thinking about the information and its applications, he was disturbed by a knock on the door. He said, "Come in."

A maid opened the door and said, "Your Majesty, Princess Sandhya is waiting for you in the study and has asked when you can meet her?"

Adi said, "Inform the princess that I will meet her in few minutes. Get her some refreshments and ask if she needs anything. I will be there shortly."

The maid nodded her head and assented, "As you command, Your Majesty", and quickly went out.

Adi stood up and arranged his clothes as he prepared to meet the princess. It was time to state his intentions clearly.
