章 14: Chapter 14 – Nameless Girl in Mixed Bath?

'It's morning,' Aurelius opened his crystal blue eyes, waking up before the first ray of sun shone on the highest tip of Deshante. He slowly breathed out, letting his body loose as if he was letting down his guard after a good night sleep, 'today…is the day.'

Aurum's gaze turned towards the golden-haired girl, 'Eve…I should let her rest for now.'

He roughly rubbed his eyes, feeling the slight pain when he pressed his eyeballs too hard, feeling them squirm under his fingers, 'the habit…of being o guard when I sleep. It hasn't gone away. This place is supposed to be my paradise…'

He stepped off the bed, using the fur blanket to cover Eve's body. He gently stroked her head before he leaned forward to plant a kiss on her forehead, "I'll be right back."

He went over to the wardrobe, which was more of the shelves without doors, 'Now that I think about it…the teachers I have seen wear clothes made of pelt along with animal fur. Head Professor of Section A…he wears a waist pelt like me. Though his Assistant was wearing clothes made of silk. It's opposite in case of Section B. It's the Head Professor of Section C who wears dresses made from Animal Pelt. They are most stylish ones. I should ask her where she got those.'

He picked up the waist pelt for him, taking the trip to the bathroom behind the house to get fresh and ready before making his way towards the bath. Slowly, the darkness of night was fading, 'dawn…na…it's still the twilight.'

Aurelius took deep breaths, reaching the bathhouse. He glanced towards the man still cleaning the floor, "Hey, is the bath ready?"

"It is," the man didn't look up, using a rag made of animal pelt to clean the floor, "there is already someone in the bath. If you don't mind that."

"So early?" Aurum scratched his snow-white hair, making his way inside the mixed bath. Though there was the dressing area before that. He took off the waist pelt to shove in the rack, 'who came so early in the morning? No, it isn't even morning. Don't they usually go train in the gym before coming here?'

'Hm,' he entered the bath, searching for whoever was rude enough to come this early and spoil his alone time, 'then again, I also came too early. No, no, it is their fault for coming so early.'

The corner of his lips turned into a smile until he finally saw the person. Rather, her presence was something else. It forced him to see the woman with wild blue hair and bright blue eyes, curiously looking at him with a smile on her lips, 'blue hair…that's because of aura…? Or Totem?'

He stepped inside the bath, turning his eyes away from the girl. She was pretty, but he didn't want to look at her for a second more, 'she must be a Totem Warrior. In this matter, Totem and Aura share similarities. In the ages when Aura was still budding, there were many killings because of children born with Aura. They were rare, and their aura caused them to have different features than their parents or families, which led to the woman being suspected of cheating. That's why those humans are troublesome…if they were anything like Demons, then the Dark Ages like that wouldn't have happened.'

'It seems Totem also causes the physical changes to—'

"Why are you so guarded?"

'Huh…when did she,' Aurum looked at the girl in front of him, who was staring into his eyes, "What?"

"You…are so guarded…it's like you made these walls of stones around you, made them brick by brick, closed of your heart to make sure nothing passes through them, used your mind to overpower your emotions, keep yourself in check," she traced the surrounding air, as if tracing a wall that was there. If one looked from far away, they would be perfectly fooled to think there was a wall out there.

"You must be misunderstanding," Aurum took a deep breath, feeling the weight off his shoulder as he leaned against the wall of the bath. He watched her with a smile, mainly looking at the water to get a good look at her body, 'I can't see…it's as if there is a reflection on the water. Reflection…water…blue hair, nothing could be more obvious. Does she have sharp eyes? Or being in the water allows her to gain information. Can she read minds? No, then she would have known—'

"Shhhh," the girl placed her finger on his lips, forcing him to look up towards her fingers and then her eyes, "Stop thinking for a second. Are you going to live inside your mind? I feel like a headache coming because of you."

"Uh…I don't live in my mind," Aurum removed her finger from his lips, "who are you anyway?"

"No one. I am just someone that met you by chance! That happens you know. People meet by chance!" she proudly placed her palm on her chest, making his eyebrow twitch.

"Everything happens because there is a cause to it. Like you hiding your body under the reflection. It must be because you have small breasts and you are too ashamed to show them," he looked at her with a mocking look in his eyes.

'In fact…I didn't feel any movement of the aura or energy of any kind when I came. That means she already had this prepared. She made the effort to cover herself when there was a high chance no one would even come,' Aurum looked at the blush on her cheeks when a glow appeared in his crystal blue eyes, 'everything has a cause and effect. I might not be the Ruler of Space and Time anymore. But my eyes should allow me to…'

He watched the scenes appear behind her, of her coming to the bath and getting ready. She looked shy when she was getting in the water. The girl covered her blushing cheeks, put the reflective sheen on the water, and waited. A happy looked appeared on her face when he came into the bath. He decided to go further back. He turned towards the right, where Luna was standing in front of the chair, patting her head, 'Oh, she heard about me from her?'

He already had what he needed, but he decided to go further back, to when she entered the Nameless Tribe, and to before when she stood in front of a deer with golden antlers. He closed his eyes since he didn't need to see anymore. Her fight against the Deer was good, she won easily against that thing and brought it back with her, "I see. Luna told you about me. So, what is it that you need from me? For you to go through all that trouble and wait for me."

"Oh, that's what I felt," she pressed her lips together, looking down towards the water as her lips squirmed. She nibbled her inner lip for a moment before she raised her palms to cup his cheeks with her hands, "this is worse than Luna told me. She doesn't know about your eyes, does she? Or she would have been more worried?"

"Enough, what do you even want?" Aurum tried to pull away when she pulled his face towards her, resting her forehead against his.

"Look at me then."

"What?"

"I said! Look at me!"

'Wow, she's lou—'

"LOOK AT ME!!!"

Aurum paused his thoughts, looking towards the girl in front of him. Her blue eyes were filled with light and brightness. There was so much brimming positivity that he felt blown away. He slowly blinked, settling his gaze on her earnest face, her glistening lips that were close to him.

"Do you see me now?"

He could only stare at her lips that moved, unable to register the words that she was saying when she pressed her palm against his chest. All of a sudden, he could hear his heart beat.

"Do you hear your heart now?"

"I…"

Her palm gently caressed his cheek, making him feel like there was a lump in his throat as she muttered, "do you see me now? The me in front of you?"

Aurum felt a pain in his throat. His voice was going hoarse even as he let out the word, "Yeah…I mean, no. Let me look again."

He pushed her away by her shoulders, getting a proper look at her face and body, 'those untamed blue hair, they still look so good. Those are eyes of a determined woman…'

He stroked her jaw, 'yup, the jaw of the trained woman, those blue eyes bursting with positivity while maintaining unwavering determination. Her lips are firm, they hold a subtle, determined look hinting a strong sense of purpose.'

'Her brows are defined. They have a sharp arch. And that beauty hidden under that overwhelming aura, that healthy glow. I know all these—'

While Aurum was taking his time to judge her, the girl was getting pissed by the second. She finally couldn't take it anymore, "You brat! You stopped looking at me again!!!"

She punched him in the stomach, making Aurum's body lurch forward, while he was still lost in his thoughts, 'A Hero…why is there a Hero in this Time? They all died out—'

"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She held his shoulder, shaking him back and forth, slapping his both cheeks, "Wake up already!!!! I thought we were getting somewhere! It seems I must drill you to the bones to remind you to look at things!!!!"

"Alright! Alright! I am looking at you!" He slapped her arms away from his shoulder, looking at her with a troubled look in his eyes, "And here I thought I met a virtuous maiden."

"What does that even mean," she pulled on his cheeks, squeezing them, twisting them, "Listen here. Now laugh with me!"

"What?"

"Ha-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!" She abrupt started laughing like crazy, though her eyes were staring at him without a hint of laugh in them. She pointed her finger towards him, "Now, your turn! Laugh!"

"Are you crazy? I would rather die," Aurum rolled his eyes at her, 'that would be so embarrassing.'

"Can you call what you are doing living?"

Aurum watched her from the corner of his eyes, feeling the sting of her words when she started laughing again.

"HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

'I can't believe I am doing this,' he covered his eyes, peeking from between his fingers, "ha…ha…ha…"

"What is with that lame laugh!! Laugh harder! Louder! Faster!!"

"Ha..ha…ha?"

She stood up in the water, still able to cause a shine that hide her body, like censorship he saw in videos. Still, he could see water dripping over her stomach, her thighs, despite the censorship. He looked up towards her eyes, "we can take all day and you can laugh in front of others!"

"Aha…ahah…you aren't serious?" Aurum let out a broken laugh, before copying her, giving it his all, "HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Happy now! We are never talking about this! Ever!"

"What are you talking about! This is just beginning! First you see the word! Hear their words! Laugh! Be happy! Smile! Grin! Cry! Shout! Be angry!! Hate! Love! Above ALL!!"

She abruptly crouched down, splashing the water on his face, peering into his crystal blue eyes, "Live…you might have learned to survive…but I am going to teach you how to live."

'To live…?' Aurum felt his head throb, when she wiped the water dripping from his cheeks.

"Now, now, don't cry," she softly muttered.

"Didn't you just say to cry?" a smile appeared on Aurum's lips as he stared at her flickering reflection in the water. He thought she would get angry and punch him again when she started laughing.

"I did, didn't I? Fine! Let's make you cry first!" She clenched her fists, cracking her knuckles.

"Uh…on second thought. Those laughing exercises were a better iwia—"

"No, no, no! Now you cry you brat!" She happily pushed her thumbs inside his mouth, pulling, smushing his cheeks with all her might.

"Vat Vi Vam over when vu!"

"No excuses! Cry now!!"

'A Hero…Heh…'
