章 21: Confessions (Sam)

After Callum left, I found myself once again outside of Lola's Apartment building. I couldn't stop thinking about his proposal as I stared up at her window.

If I stayed at the Club, I'd have the resources and information to get revenge on Ace and Stacy's killers. I would be Vice-President again and have my life back, everything except Lola. But, of course, Callum couldn't cut me out completely. I would still see her from time to time, but not nearly to the capacity I so desperately desired, and Lola could never be mine. A small price if it granted me the means to protect and support her.

It was the right thing to do. So why did it feel so wrong? Lola could have a normal life, free of the Club. Where she could raise Poppy, have a family, a life without bloodshed and crime. It should have been an easy decision to make, but I was selfish. I didn't want to give up the only girl I had ever loved, to give up the dream of her as my wife, lover and friend.
