«The Church is hunting Mages,» Adelphium declares, leaning back on the sofa. «They have sent a few groups to look in every village and bring them to... to justice.»
He signs, looking at his fingers. He's sad today. I shouldn't have doubted him so openly; now, I feel guilty.
«I came here to ask for help.»
«Help?» I mutter. What could I even help him with?
«I don't know what to do, and I can't stop them. All I can do is observe how Mages are hunted down and imprisoned... I can do nothing to help them.
«But, Adelphium, it's the second time I've heard about this. But no one has told me about executions yet. Is it possible that people are dying without me knowing? No one thought to warn the Queen?»
