It had been a week since Doran had been released from jail and Zyair had received that sinister call from a very panicked Amsilia. She didn't want to frighten Skyla so she narrated everything to Zyair, telling him to take extra care of her.

It had put Zyair slightly on the edge as he tightened the security around his apartment and always accompanied Skyla wherever she wished to go.

Even without the knowledge of what Amsilia had told Zyair, Skyla had been anxious since his release. He observed her occasionally watching over her shoulder or scanning the crowd for a familiar face. She hadn't said much to him but he understood her like the back of his hand now.
