章 117: A New Reign

Royal Father passed away in the middle of the night.

His passing sent everyone in the Palace into mourning.

Screams, groans and yells rang out through the Palace, calling out for "Your Majesty!"

The Empress came running into Di Huang Tang, her hair and makeup done as she began to cry and wail.

She was dressed in her red Empress robes, and she threw herself onto her knees by the bed.

Zheng and I stepped aside to let her mourn, kowtowing side-by-side behind her as she wailed and sobbed for the death of her husband.

The day of the funeral procession went by in a blur.

By decorum, as the Emperor was the Father of the Nation, the whole of Jin Tang ought to go into mourning for 3 years after his death.
