章 9: Restoration
Ryan finally got back to his camp with Hemming waiting there for him and Inkeri with food waiting to be cooked. "Hemming, get over here I need your help. Inkeri, she's dying and I need you to help me fix her up so she is stable again."yelled Ryan.
"Ryan, I can see that you need my help but you need to learn how to do this yourself. I will at most teach you how to help her but if you don't calm down then she will die," stated Hemming. When Ryan heard this, he went pale as he thought Hemming would always help him if he needed help but he now knew never to be too trusting.
"Ryan, seeing as you have calmed down a bit I will tell you the concept for healing her that will make you and her stronger. There is one problem though which is you need to control the flow of your energy," said Hemming.
Ryan was fine with what Hemming was saying as long as Inkeri was safe and she wouldn't die due to his incompetence. "First you need to slice you hand and give her some of your blood, followed by you pushing energy into her at a very slow rate then cutting pieces of to let her absorb. Finally, the dangerous part which requires you to force your soul fire to leave your body and use it to keep her warm."described Hemming leaves Ryan confused on what he was talking about as he hadn't heard of this stuff before.
"I assume you can control your energy, but what I want you to do is imagine it as a thread or a wire so it's small but sturdy. Cutting of parts of it is easy which you can practice in a second which now leaves the last part which is you soul fire also called life essence by some."explained Hemming but when Ryan started to understand he got frightened as he knew the repercussions of someones life essence being hurt or damaged.
If life essence is damage in any way possible then the person who got hurt will lose a portion of their life which will correspond to amount the loss. Damage can be reversed, but that requires special plants or materials as they will have energy to compensate.
Ryan decided to practice putting his energy into a wire form and practice cutting into bits while leaving enough energy to absorb. He was getting the hang of it and decided it was time to start working on getting used to using his soul fire.
As he about to shift his focus Inkeri ended up coughing blood which scared Ryan, so he made a stupid decision that could cost him his life. He went over to Inkeri and cut his hand to feed her blood which, but he didn't know of the effects on this action as Hemming didn't tell him.
Uncaring of consequences he started pouring energy towards her into a wire just as Hemming told him to do. Once he got the energy got into her, he was told by Hemming to move i to puncture area which he did with precision as he didn't want to harm her more than she already was in.
Once he got to the area of damage and started cutting chunks of the energy wire so she can absorb it. He felt fatigued from using his energy constantly without letting it refill plus using your spirit outside of the body requires a person to have complete focus.
He decided it was time to start using the soul flame which he forced to go out of his body bit by bit since he doesn't know how to control such a thing yet. Once the soul flame left the body, he started to feel cold as if he was dying which started to mess up his concentration.
He knew he would live if he didn't do it quick so instead of putting it around her and waiting he decides to take up Inkeri and hug her to his chest. His plan was simple let the flame sit halfway for him to keep him warm then halfway in Inkeri which he knew was a huge risk but he didn't have another choice.
Once part of it was in Inkeri she started warming up allowing her spirit become active again to devour the lose spirit. What Ryan didn't know seem to be the reason for putting the energy chunks near the area of damage was to limit loss when converted.
Ryan looked down to see the majestic flame just sitting there burning between him and Inkeri. It looked Crimson with a little bit of green infecting but as he observed her and the flame he saw purple started to infect another side.
When observing the flame he received inspiration what to do with it from some of the flowers he saw with his mother and shifted it into a flower. The nine petals red almost all red except for which were purple and green and the center was a blood red.
What Ryan had done was do something that someone of the divine stages would comprehend and be able to pull off while he was uncertain of his rank. Ryan didn't care about what he had done as long as Inkeri was safe, and from what can tell she was recovering even quicker presently at a visible pace.
Her wound closed up and was completely gone without a scar which left Ryan dumbfounded as his body was still riddled with scars. What Ryan didn't understand was Inkeri had broken through to level two demon, and her cultivation base had become so solid that she could rush to the subsequent part of cultivation.
Inkeri slowly started to uncover her eyes and what she saw was that she was in Ryan's arms with a flame connecting them.She wanted to freak out but she enjoyed so much comfort in his hug that she rubbed her head on his chest.
Ryan learned she woke up and decided to retract the flower flame into his body and sighed internally. Once he sighed internally, Inkeri had overheard it and was confused on how she could hear him sighing.
She asked herself why he was groaning which Ryan had heard, therefore, he decided to speak up to inquire how she perceived what he was doing and how he overheard her. The key reason he wanted to find out is due to him merely experiencing one way which was an agreed upon a thing between him and Ithil.
He knew he under no circumstanced performed the action to share spirit to talk to each other, so Ryan asked,"Inkeri how did you know I was sighing. Why was I able to examine your thoughts?"When Ryan asked this question Inkeri got startled as she knew he could perceive her so wanted to shift the subject.
"Can we not talk about this, but I need asking one question what is your name because we have never talked about it? Plus who is that person over there staring at us because it doesn't remember perceiving another person with us," question Inkeri.
"Ok we won't talk about this but my name is Ryan and he is Hemming. He informed me how to recover you from dying."stated Inkeri as he started hugging her a little tighter since he didn't want to lose her.
"While you two enjoy your bonding moment, I can brief you how to stop using your guys telepathy, said Hemming causing both of them to jump. They looked at him with pleading as they didn't require their minds to be that connected.
