It hadn't been up to a month since Jeremy planned on sucking her dry to the bone. Her body needed all the physical and mental energy it could possibly get to create the barrier, but due to the situation at hand, Madeline couldn't take the idea of risking it. Watching her blood flow around the crevasses that formed a big red circle around her, Madeline's heart drummed continuously, and her body shuddered as everything was happening too fast for her mind to fully grasp exactly what she needed to do.

She let out a shaky breath and withdrew her hand from the crevasses.

"Are you okay?" Monica's eyes held genuine worry as she watched Madeline struggle to stand up on her two feet, and she smiled faintly at Monica who was still worried about the injury on her palm. The whole place was beginning to glow as she had awakened the barrier spell with her blood, but she wasn't done yet.
