Time was a luxury they were quickly running out of. Malik could hardly sleep while his beloved rest peacefully in his hold. 

His gaze stayed on her frame, awestruck. He felt a sense of deja vu the more he saw of her. His heart skipped a beat, quickly increasing in its tempo by the seconds. 

It all felt like a dream. One he didn't wish to wake from. Having her in his arms after what felt like an eternity of separation was a blissful feeling. 

Sadly, he knew that once the dawn breaks, the war begins. He wished for more time with his family. Once upon a time, he had thought that he had all the time in the world. 

Now, he knew differently. He had no regrets regarding his past. Unlike most men, Malik used every second of his life after he found Maimuna to make lasting memories. 

Whenever he wasn't busy with his responsibilities, he was around his beloved. He made her laugh more than she made her sad.
