For a second, Lin FenXiang's eyes became blank as he gasped, lips chapped and body aching as he curled up to himself. Then, he gritted his teeth and forced himself to blink away the mix of tears and sweat in his eyes as he looked at Father William's looming figure.

The strange black tendrils swirling around his body didn't go away. They didn't fade away.

It wasn't an illusion nor was Lin FenXiang hallucinating from all the pain he was experiencing.

“What's going on?“ He whispered, voice painfully soft as he drew in ragged breaths. Despite the fact that his vision was filled with black spots, Lin FenXiang was absolutely certain that this wasn't his imagination.

Father William jerked forward, no longer watching him writhing in agony from the sidelines. His hands reached out, as if to help him, only to stop midway as hesitation leaked into his features.
