He wasn't joking and she could see it. The determination in his eyes was a warning that he'd kiss her and have his way with her, but it wasn't enough to make her cower. She wasn't backing down just because he told her too.
"You don't scare me. Not for one bit." Her chin jutted with defiance.
"Are you sure about that?" He tilted of his head, and with an unsettling look in his eyes, he stepped forward.
Lina felt her heart skip, but that unyielding stubbornness streaming through her like a storm had her feet rooted and her eyes challenging him.
Pete took another step till he was standing close to her with only a foot space between them. There was fire in her eyes —a challenge for him to make do his threat on her. Hell, he'd kiss her. He'd take her in his arms, caress her and love her just like he had always imagined he would.
But he really couldn't do that when he knew he had hurt her. It was in her eyes.
