章 1: Back to the Past
"Hey buddy, are you okay?"
"You look quite worn out. I told you to not to drink so much."
Kevin heard the voices in his head, someone seems to be calling him. He opened his eyes, but the bright light in the room made him close them again.
Kevin sat up with a little difficulty. The voice calling him sounded a little clear, and he could understand it a bit now. It seems a little familiar.
Gerald saw his friend still not responding, so he picked up the jug and poured all the water on his friend's head.
Being poured with water in such a cold weather, Kevin's all confusion went away and he jumped up from his seat.
He wanted to curse, who is this bastard. Even if it was a prank, it was not a good one. Opening his eyes, all the curse words were struck in his throat, and he was dumbfounded.
Standing in front of him was his childhood friend Gerald whom he hadn't seen in years. But suddenly, something seemed wrong.
Why is Gerald in his apartment and Why does he look younger? Although Gerald was still handsome in his fifties, but the young man infront of him looks in his late twenties.
Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his head and Kevin howled in pain.
Gerarld was getting amused by his friend's continuously changing expressions, but Kevin suddenly started shouted and he seems to be in pain. He didn't know what to do, and he was confused.
Gerald hurriedly took a glass of water and fed it to Kevin.
After the pain went away, Kevin drank water and calmed down a little. Now, let's take a look at the current situation.
Ten minutes later, Kevin was sitting opposite to Gerald. He has sorted out his memories and has somewhat clear understanding of his present situation. He, Kevin Walter has returned from 2022 to 1998 back in time when he was 28 years old and at the turning point of his life.
He, Kevin Walter was a director who came to Hollywood with the dream of becoming a successful director like thousands of other people. After making two small budget successful films in London, he came to Hollywood to became a successful art film director.
He was too full of his small successes and couldn't see the waters clearly in Hollywood. The reality hit him hard, and he made three movies here and all were unsuccessful. He lost his everything here including his family, friends, dreams and even hope. But maybe God took pity on him, and he's back in time before his ruin started.
Gerald was concerned about his friend who has been continuously thinking since he got up. "Hey man, are you calm now?"
Kevin who was lost in thoughts, was interrupted by Gerald's question. He looked at his friend who had always supported him even when he became a successful actor, while he himself remained one of the unknown directors. He smiled. "Don't worry, I am fine. Instead better than ever."
Gerald who was looked at with such loving eyes, wanted to vomit. "Don't look at me like that. I am not your Anna."
Kevin laughed loudly hearing Gerald's words. "Don't worry. You are more dear to me than any Anna."
Gerald was angry and jumped on Kevin. He has to make his friend sane. He can't believe Kevin can sweet talk so much.
After fighting and rolling for ten minutes, Kevin and Gerald lay side by side breathless. Gerald looked at his friend breathing rapidly beside him: "Are you okay man?"
Kevin also tilted his head and looked in his friend's green eyes: "Better than ever."
Gerard, his friend who will be famously known as Gerald Butler in future is his childhood friend. They have known each other since they were kids.
He, Kevin Walter is of half Scottish blood. His father Aaron Walter owned a book selling agency, and was colleague with Gerald's father. That's how he and Gerald knew each other since they were kids. But due to his father's death at the age of nineteen, Kevin moved with his mother and younger sister to London, to his grandparent's house.
In London, Kevin got intrested in film making and was also found to have talent in it. He enrolled in National film Acedmy London and graduated with excellent qualifications. His first short film was well received and was placed in school's highlighted projects by students. His first feature debut film "He's here", a suspense thriller was also well received by British critics and also became a box office success, and he became a directing genius overnight. His second film "Anna's diary" was also an Artistic literary hit, although box office was poor.
In the end, he was not satisfied and came to Hollywood to became successful here. He even sold his property in Scotland which he inherited from his father, to make a successful movie in Hollywood. But he was too full of himself and couldn't see the difference between Hollywood and British film industry, and suffered disasterous results. After the first failure, many people advised him to change his ways, but he seemed to be full of Art film complex and went down and down again. In the end, he was too broken that he started drugs and completely gave on himself. Many people in his friends, family tried to help him, but as they say, you can't help someone who doesn't want to help himself.
Fortunately, he still got a chance and has returned to 1998 when his first film in Hollywood hasn't even started yet. He still has time and can improve himself.
Getting the thoughts out of his mind, Kevin felt hungry and stood up to get something to eat.
