After getting ready, Dave calmly sat down, scrolling through the news feed on his phone. "Like in the original timeline, Tony won't even be there," he mumbled, smiling to himself as he pondered how he should approach Stark when the time came.
While scrolling, his eyes landed on a beautiful reporter. "She's the one," Dave whispered, locking onto her contact. In the original timeline, she was the one who made Tony aware that his company was still dealing in weapons behind his back. Poor Tony, unaware of what was really going on in his empire.
"Anyway, leaving Tony aside," Dave chuckled, "Don't I owe Obadiah a bullet to the head for that kill order he put on me?"
He smirked as the memory passed and muttered, "Tonight's party will be fun." Glancing at the door, he saw Trish step out, wearing a long white dress with a seductive side slit that revealed her toned thighs as she moved. Around her neck was a dazzling necklace that matched her earrings perfectly, accentuating her beauty.
"You look stunning," Dave remarked, admiring her.
"Says the handsome guy himself," Trish shrugged with a playful smile as she took his hand.
"Let's go," Dave nodded, and as they stepped outside, they were met by Diana. She was wearing a long black backless dress, her hair tied neatly in a bun, adorned with a striking red diamond necklace and matching earrings.
"Oh my, I'd better keep an eye on my secretary tonight," Dave teased, looking her up and down. "Who knows when someone might try to snatch her—from me."
Diana blushed slightly at the compliment and moved to his other side, linking arms with him.
As the trio made their way out to the car, the night air was crisp, and the city lights glittered around them. Dave opened the door for Trish and Diana, allowing them to slide into the back of the sleek black car. He joined them, settling in comfortably as the driver pulled away, heading toward the Obadiah mansion where the party was being held.
The hum of the engine filled the silence for a moment before Diana broke it.
"So, how are you planning to approach Tony? or take revenge on Obadiah?" she asked with a serious face.
"maybe he will use his Charm" Trish said looking at his charming and dashing appearance for the night.
Dave chuckled. "I don't need charm for that, Trish. I'm more interested in how Stark's going to react when he sees what his company's really up to." He leaned back in his seat, casually glancing out the window. "As for Obadiah he is in surprise for tonight."
Trish, lounging next to him, said shaking her head. "You always enjoy causing a little chaos, don't you?"
"Chaos is just the fun part of the job," Dave replied with a grin. "Besides, Obadiah thinks he's untouchable. Tonight, he'll find out otherwise."
"That in front of strength there is no point for schemes" Dave said as his eyes shone dangerously.
Trish looked at him, as she kissed him " There, you shouldn't let go it out of control" She said after breaking the kiss.
Dave nodded, "well, I made a self record there, perfectly controlling the Demonic energy for the whole day" he said shrugging.
Diana looking at them curiously asked " By the way can you also give me power?" She asked looking at Trish.
Trish glanced at Diana, sensing her emotions. "Interesting," she thought.
"And why do you want power?" Dave asked, looking directly at Diana.
"I... I want to help you, like Trish does," Diana responded, her head hanging low.
Dave fell silent for a moment, then shook his head. "Aren't you already helping me?" he asked, reminding her that she was the one who always managed his companies, handled all the paperwork, and took care of everything behind the scenes.
"But... what if something happens to you? Like Sir James... I wouldn't be able to live after that," Diana said, her voice breaking as tears began to well up in her eyes.
Dave shook his head gently and patted her on the head. "I'm strong. There's no way something like that will happen to me," he reassured her.
"No!" Diana shouted, pushing his hand away. "I still want power. I don't want to be powerless and just watch you die too," she cried, her voice shaking with emotion.
Dave looked down at his hand and then back at Diana, whose face was twisted in frustration and anger.
"Smack!"
"Owwy!" Diana yelped, holding her head after being lightly slapped by Dave.
"You're a pain in the ass," Dave said, shaking his head again. Diana lowered her head, sniffling. "But I will give you power. Just wait for it," he added, his tone softening.
Diana looked up at him, still holding her head. "Really?" she asked, her voice quiet and filled with hope.
"Yes, I will. But not anytime soon," Dave nodded, his mind already wondering if the next template he unlocked would help her too.
He couldn't give her demonic energy, as it was too powerful and corruptive. It would devour someone as pure and simple as Diana.
'I hope the next template unlock will be better suited for her,' he thought, glancing at his template progress. It was currently at 51%. 'Just another 49%, and I'll unlock a new one,' he mused, staring out of the window.
Meanwhile, Trish helped Diana fix her makeup, running her hand gently over her back to calm her down and restore her to her usual beautiful appearance from her tears stained one.
The car ride continued, the city lights casting moving shadows inside the vehicle. Eventually, they pulled up in front of Obadiah's lavish estate. The grand entrance was already lined with expensive cars, and the sound of laughter and conversation drifted from the building.
As they stepped out of the car, Dave adjusted his suit jacket and turned to Trish and Diana. "Alright, let's go meet our soon to be dead host."
