章 50: Let the games begin!
[POV Chopper, Usopp and Buggs]
The navy approaches the ship and leads it towards the docks without boarding it, as if the ghosts will eat their asses.
"Damn it, they really got Merry!" Usopp watches from far away.
"What will we do?! What will we do?! They took Merry!" Chopper panics.
*Thump Thump!*
"Get yourself together doc! And you stop weeping after Merry!" Buggs hits them both over their heads.
"Ouch! What the hell?!" Usopp complains.
"Stop messing around! We are in the middle of a competition! Don't you want to get whatever Lynx is offering?! I want some better gear and not just run around like this!" He points at himself not wearing anything over his short fur.
"True! I want a slingshot that is as awesome as Lynx's bow!!!" Usopp grabs his head as he starts to drool over the thought.
"He probably can get me something I want as well!" Chopper nods.
"Now, if you haven't noticed… All other teams have someone strong! We need to start acting quick and cause as much mayhem as possible!" Buggs stomps the ground.
"Do you have any ideas?" Chopper asks Buggs.
"We can't compare in firepower… Maybe use their misconception about monsters and ghosts?" Buggs thinks about it.
"Say no more! I got an idea!" Usopp grins.

[POV Lola, Braum and Zoro]
"So what do we do?" Lola asks her companions.
"Just cut them up?" Zoro doesn't want to wreck his brains over it.
"No. Lynx said, we can't just attack them outright!" Lola yells at Zoro.
"Braum thinks that Lynx wants us to be sneaky. He mentioned sabotage and disguising." Braum plays with his mustache as he plays.
"You want us to disguise?" Lola sends him a weird look.
'A half naked giant man, a battlemania swordsman and a lapin… How are we supposed to hide?' Lola
"Zoro, you can cut up stone and steel now, right?" Braum asks.
"Yes, what do you want me to cut?" Zoro glances up at him.
"Cut this wall with the door in the dimension of the hallways." Braum walks towards a wall and pats it.
The wall is like any other in the base, with a door in the middle.
"Alright, step back." Zoro
*Shwing!*
Zoro cuts out the wall. Braum walks towards it and pulls it out, lifting it in the air.
But then the three were greeted by a group of marines playing cards in that room, gawking at them.
"... Goddammit!" Lola quickly jumps in and sucker punches the four people in quick succession, knocking them out.
"Didn't you say no attacking them first?" Zoro asks.
"Shut up and take their clothes! I got an idea with Braum carrying that wall." Lola smiles.

[POV Mikita, Robin and Heph]
"So where do you two wanna go?" Mikita asks while she walks with her parasol.
"I want to go to their information hq or library. What about you two?" Robin
"Nothing really interesting here for me… Maybe go steal some seastone from the shipyard?" Heph thinks about it.
She has created many weapons with it and it's quite popular since it's a great material for shields and weapons, though it's hard to sharpen.
"Hmm… I'll head for the kitchen then. I wanna see their pastry cookbooks. I found joy in it, but I refrained from learning from Sanji… He is way over the top just because I am a woman…" Mikita sighs.
"Well, if it cheers you up a bit, he seemed to be planning to follow daddy a bit more and listen to his advice." Robin smiles.
"Lynx, though he is funny and has unique ideas, you think it will help that lost horny clause? He just might pick up bad habits from Lynx." Heph deadpans.
"... I don't wanna hear anymore… See you guys later." Mikita sighs.
"Bye~" Robin walks away.
"Be careful!" Heph warns and leaves.

[POV Conis, Lux and Nami]
"So what's the plan?" Conis looks at her seniors.
"Just wreck whatever is in the way? Lynx didn't specify enough." Lux shrugs her shoulders.
"Oh no you don't! We are going to the vault first! Then you can wreck whatever." Nami quickly corrects her.
"Do you never get sick of being so money hungry? Money only has value since humans gave it value. You take this money to another world, it's worthless." Lux gives a bored look.
"True, fertile varse had more value than any other varse in Sky-... Elysium. This will now change when Lynx makes a portal, but money is useless if you can't buy anything." Conis agrees.
"Hey! We are staying on this planet for now so the money can be used for everything! Less complaining, more working! Lux, you can open a portal right?" Nami glances at Lux's sling ring.
"Yea, yea. Let's go so we can start competing with the others for real." Lux beckons Nami to lead her to the vault.

[POV Sanji and Luffy]
"Why can't I be with a woman… Everyone else is!!!" Sanji is crying, feeling the unfairness.
Luffy is picking his nose in front of him.
"Stop making a scene, I am hungry. Cook me something." Luffy
"HEY! Don't downplay the unfairness!! And I can't cook you anything without any ingredients." Sanji gives Luffy a bored look.
"So we just need to get ingredients? Let's go!!! Luffy grabs Sanji as he drags him into a passage of the fort.
After running for a while with Sanji in tow, he hears footsteps in the distance. He slows down and hides.
"Damn it, you ruffle my vest! So why did you stop?" Sanji looks at Luffy as he fixes up his suit.
Luffy just points at the lone patrolling marine and smiles at Sanji.
'What is he gonna do now?' Sanji grabs his temples already feeling a stupid idea approach.
Just as the marine passes by the crack they are hiding in, Luffy jumps out and lands behind the marine.
The marine didn't seem to notice and kept walking, but then his steps falter hearing his footsteps sound weird. He makes a few steps forwards and Luffy follows. At stopping he hears an extra footstep.
The marine becomes nervous and tries to confirm his fear by once again walking forward and stopping… Again he hears two additional footsteps.
The marine swallows his saliva and turns around suddenly- but there is nothing there, because Luffy spun around him and is behind him again.
"*Sigh* It was just my imagination." The marine sighs from relief, turns around and walks forward.
Luffy circles around him in his blind spot and gives the hiding Sanji two peace signs.
The marine again turns around suddenly but Luffy anticipated it, still hiding behind him. This time grinning with a smug look and still showing the peace signs.
As the marine continues to walk forward, Luffy pulls out a brush and gently paints 'Luffy' on the marines back as he continues to follow him.
"This idiot… I honestly have no idea if this is him being himself or Lynx's influence…" Sanji looks out from the wall and sighs.
...
"To the 4th and 6th and 10th units under Lt. Commander Drake! Assume second degree battle stations and wait on standby! Commanding officers are to report to Control room #1!" Loudspeaker.
The marines rush down the corridors, not noticing the presence in the air shafts.
"Navarone? I see, I get it now. Of all places we landed in the middle of the grand fortress the navy is so proud of. And Lynx now has us compete in playing peek-a-boo with these shits? I simply will never understand this guy… So what do we do, captain?" Sanji looks up at Luffy… Who is sleeping soundly on the other side of the air vent.
"... Why of all people, did I get paired with this guy?" Sanji sighs.
[POV Braum and Lola]
"Alright, let's go you two!" Lola says while she is looking around the corner.
"Braum is here, but Zoro isn't." Braum says while looking behind him.
"... WHAT?!" Lola turns around and sees the space behind Braum empty.
"WHERE THE FUCK DID HE DISAPPEAR TO?!?!" Lola screams.
"Who is there?!" A marine screams back and a bunch of footsteps are heard.
"Shhh!!" Braum blocks the path with the wall, making the marines run by not noticing the fake wall that shouldn't be there.
"Let's just continue on our own. Zoro is unfindable once he leaves your sight." Braum sighs.
"... Fine. But if I win this, I am asking Lynx to give Zoro a compass devil fruit, so he doesn't get lost again." Lola grumbles as they move away.
[POV Zoro]
"Ships are coming in! We are now on first degree alert! Have the boarding inspection bridge ready!" Marine officer
Zoro casually walks into a room where they are operating the system for raising and lowering the flood gate. The marines are rushing about while Zoro just watches them.
"This really is a big fortress… Anyway? Where am I? Should I go back? Damn those two for getting lost… Too bad Lynx can't give all of them a compass devil fruit so they don't keep on getting lost." He looks around and sees the sea gate descending underwater.
"Let's just get it over." Zoro attacks the gear moving the seagate, making the gate drop due to gravity underwater.
"WHAT THE HELL?!?!" Everyone gawks at the suddenly cut apart gear and panics.
"Oh, right! Need to leave my name… Z. O. R. O. Good enough!" Zoro sheets his swords and walks away, not noticed by the panicking marines.
…
[POV Nami, Conis and Lux.]
"Damn this fortress is too big! Even I won't remember the layout that fast!" Nami complains.
"So where to, banshee of greed?" Lux smirks at Nami.
"Oi! You want a fight bitch?!" Nami gives a glare.
"Oh fuck yes please!!!" Lux becomes excited and is already preparing her staff.
"... Nevermind." Nami looks away, remembering Lux's bullshit laser ability.
"Pussy!" Lux pouts not being able to fight.
"Calm down you two! We still have things to do! Or do you want me to call Lynx?" Conis pacifies both of them.
Nami doesn't want to bother and peeks through a door, but it leads outside.
"Damn this is big… Wait where is Merry?!" Nami looks around in panic.
"Being hauled to the docks. Didn't you listen to the speakers?" Conis gives a weird look to Nami.
"..." Nami and Lux.
"Neither of you two listened?!" Conis stares at the two disbelievingly.
The two look away guilty.
*Creak!*
"What's up with this stupid fortress? It's like a maze." Marley brother 1
[Even Oda was too bored to give them names…]
"Hey, you girls. Do you know where the kitchen is?" Marley brother 2
"Kitchen?" Conis looks confused.
"O-oh! Yes, we do! Kitchen right?" Nami asks acting away.
"We just came in by ship." Marley bro 2
"What a pain! We are lost." Marley bro 1
"Sorry to hear. We got lost all the time, when we came here five years ago." Nami lies.
"You've been here for five years already? Then take us to the kitchen. We can't ask for help from the cooks here, so please help us out." Marley bro 1
"Oh yea. You just go down this bridge to that part of the rockface, go inside, take two rights, one left down the hallway and go down the stairs. You can't miss it from there! If anyone asks, just tell them that Lux sent you." Lux cheerfully points across the bridge towards the docking part of the fortress.
They seemed arrogant and if she gets to screw them over and get the blame… Free bonus points!
"Ah thanks! See you girls later." Marley bro 1 says and they both leave with their luggage.
The girls wave them off and then Lux giggles.
"Ah, that feels so nice~ Lynx was right about trolling people!" Lux says cheerfully, garnering the looks of the other two.

"Well this should do for now." Nami looks at herself wearing the Navy uniform.
"Yes, my looks would stand out here." Conis nods as she hides her wings in the jacket and her hair under a cap.
"Man this material is shit. Must be for cleaning staff." Lux frowns feeling up the material of her shirt and pants.
"Roronoa Zoro. They told me that the ship they are calling a ghost ship is actually the ship of Straw hat Luffy. At Commanders Jonathan's orders, we, the unit directly under Lt. Commander Drake, were given a secret mission to capture them. When we face them, the one considered to be the strongest is Roronoa Zoro. The higher bounty ones had luck or provoked the government like that fellow Lynx." Marine officer
Lux and Conis started to tremble as they all pretended to clean. Not because of fear, but because they are holding in their laughter from how ill informed these marines are.
'These idiots are done… Lynx could already wipe this stronghold out by mixing his abilities.' Nami sighs and salutes them in farewell mentally.
"He is a great swordsman who used to be feared as a pirate hunter, right? I heard he uses the three swords style." Marine 1
"In any case, we will capture them and make them regret ever coming to this place." Marine officer
Just as the group of marines turns around a corner, Zoro arrives from another passage.
"Who is he saying he will make regret something? Huh, I passed by here earlier, didn't I?" Zoro is trying to focus.
"Why are you walking about so openly?!" Nami hits Zoro over his head with a broom.
"That hurt you son of a… Oh, it's you. I did think that hit felt familiar." Zoro turns around.
"Wait, didn't you go with Lola and Braum?" Conis looks confused.
"Yea… Those two idiots got lost and now I am looking for them." Zoro says annoyed.
"You are the one with no sense of direction, you retard!!" Nami hits him over his head again.
"Oi! Stop hitting me you bitch!" Zoro
"I'll stop when you stop being a retard! You are even walking openly like that with three swords!" Nami screams.
"Both of you be quiet!!!" Lux hits them both.
"Shhh!!! We are trying to be sneaky. Just grab him and let's go together! If there is a vault he can cut it quietly." Conis tries to shut them up.
"... Ok, you are coming with us!" Nami hooks her arm around Zoro's head and starts to drag him.
"Oi! Woman! Stop this!" Zoro is dragged behind her by his head.
"Well, we can still claim that we did the most when we steal most of the stuff." Lux shrugs and walks away.

[POV Sanji and Luffy]
"Man, I'm exhausted from this ghost ship business. Anyway, let's eat and prepare for an emergency." Two marines pass through the corridor.
*Clank*
"Ghost ship?" Sanji asks.
"Did you find something to eat?" Luffy pokes his head out of the vent.
"Looks like the dining hall is that way." Sanji points where the marines walked to.
"Food!!!" Luffy jumps out.
"Idiot!!!" Sanji grabs his leg so Luffy now hangs down from the vent.
"What are you doing?!" Luffy
"Don't be so rash!" Sanji
"I'm gonna eat!" Luffy
"I was curious who made the ruckus, but in the end it's you two." Mikita is looking at the duo unimpressed.
"Mikita-chwaaaan~!" Sanji drops from the vent and lands directly on Luffy.
"Food… Food…" Luffy crawls forward, taking Sanji with him away from Mikita.
"Damn, you are stubborn! At least crawl to Mikita first!" Sanji
"Who told you to land on top of me anyway?!" Luffy yells back.
"WHO IS THERE?!?!" A couple of marines run back towards the three with their muskets.
"Huh? How strange…" The marines see nothing in the hallway they heard something from.
"Was it our imagination?" Marine 2
"We've been on the edge since yesterday. We must be just that tired…" Marine 1 says as they walk into the cafeteria.

Mikita is leaning on a wall in a closet with crossed arms and tapping her foot on the floor from annoyance.
In front of her are both Luffy and Sanji lying on the floor with big head bumps that she caused to them.
"Seriously! We are trying to be sneaky here! If you continue doing ruckus, keep it away from me." Mikita scolds them.
"Sorry Mikita-chwaaan… But this guy just won't stop gunning for the food." Sanji apologizes.
"If you wanna eat, then at least be in a good disguise. I need to go to the kitchen anyway, so here take this." Mikita walks to another part of the closet and takes some marine cook uniforms.
"Huh? You aren't planning to poison the food, now are you?" Sanji gives her a disbelieving look.
"No, like Lynx said- no killing. And I don't want to be known as someone who poisons food. Who in the hell would eat my cooking then?" Mikita
"I WOULD!!!" Sanji and Luffy raise their arms.
"... Not my target consumers but alright. Anyway, I just wanna take a look at what they have to offer." Mikita shrugs and turns around, opening a wardrobe.
"Oh! If any of you two try to peek, I will tell Lynx to do what he did in the Alabastan baths plus you will be added to the count of the batons victims." Mikita sends a glare over her shoulder.
"Yes ma'am!" The two guys both shiver and exclaim to her.
"Good now change as well." Mikita steps with the female uniform into the wardrobe and closes it.
