章 7: 6- Character Creation Gone Wrong

Of course, he was just distracting himself from how much out of depth he was with those considerations. Well, kinda.

Focusing on his reflection in the mirror, the intricacies of the current 'menu' he was in came to him instinctively. As if it was an option he had coded himself. He already knew how it was to be used.

It wasn't something really refined, as he only had to use his imagination and will to change his features. When he wanted to mofidy something, his perception would freeze for a split second before the change was applied to his body. A confusing happenstance that after some thinking as to why it was a thing, he deduced was only fidel to the character's creation screen he had used in the past.

After playing around for a bit with it, idly wondering if and how the girls would react if he gave himself purple skin and a nose bigger than his fist, as well as accidentally having a stray certain stray thought that made the clothes on his body vanish. Cal released a incorporeal breath in relief at seeing a particular part of his body existing and decided to go straight to business.

Focusing on the face first, he opted after a bit of deliberation to give himself his initial, maybe a bit above average, visage back as a base. After all, he wanted to keep being himself in the future for as long as possible, and seeing another face than his own each time he came across a reflective surface wouldn't help with that, and would probably make him uncomfortable on top of that. Especially since he had a choice in it.

Now staring at the familiar somewhat square and brown haired and eyed head and visage. Cal would have cracked his fingers and grinned if he could have. Now came the fun part.

Two summers ago, he remember going camping with his friends for an entire month straight not far from a beach and attraction park. And how taned they were at the end of it, and how good it had looked on him in particular. That and the lighter shade all that sun gave to his hair. He remember, because he had been complimented for it. And well, as a man, he could naturally count on his fingers how many time he had been genuinely complimented.

Unfortunately, because of his job and hobbies. Despite wanting to, he hadn't been able to conserve it. So giving himself a healthy, natural light tan was the first thing he did. Then, he also gave his hair a redo and lightened them to a rich golden brown with some straight dark blond strands here and there.

After taking a few seconds to note how just much of a difference these two changes made already. He went on to experiment with his eyes, making them a bit bigger and clearer, changing the color to golden-brown with specks of straight gold in them because it was cool.

Staring for a bit at his work and realising that his initial person was pretty much already barely recognizable even when his face was still the same, he shrugged helplessly and continued his modifications. Liking what he saw too much to stop now.

Sharpening the jaw line, straightening the nose, lifting his cheekbones a bit and plenty of others features and imperfections he always wished to change if he ever had the chance came and went away in a flurry of unhinged creativity and crippling case of morbid curiosity as to what his mind thought when the word perfection came up.

After what could be hours or minutes really, Cal reached the answer to it as he came face to face with a figure that came out straight out of fiction and only from the mind of people. A face, that somehow, he instinctively tied the term elvish-like to. Seriously, if you'd add pointy ears to it would just fit the bill to a T.

He found himself weirded out as he found himself attracted to well... Himself. Despite being perfectly straight. Was that how narcisstic were born? This kind of power... It was dangerous.

Finally out of his the phase of godsyndrome and having flushed it out of his system, he somewhat reluctantly toned down his goodlooks a bit. Lest he find himself only able to love mirrors from now on.

As for the rest of his body, he didn't hesitate long before deciding to leave it untouched, despite the temptation to make himself utterly jacked. He would feel much too dirty for all the boys out there grinding if he did. And he didn't want to get something he'd normally needed effort to have handed to him. Just thinking about it left a bad taste in his mouth.

His eyes coming to rest on a lower part of himself with a complicated look, he stayed still for a bit before making a mental salute. That was all he could do for all its years of service as it went along with the rest of him to become better.

The world buzzed as his consciousness zipped back to his body upon mentally confirming his choice. A brief moment of disorientation followed as all his proper senses came online at the same time that the rest of the world faded back into reality around him.

Barely had he the time to catch the reflection of his new face in the mirror and register that his recent out of body experience was real that he saw a glimpse of red on the mirror, who quickly grew to become a line and then a river as he struggled to take a breath.

Like a physical blow, dizziness struck at his skull in the form of an intense headache that made everything seems to swims in his sight. Gurgling blood, he bent over the sink and spat, blood immediatly falling and forming a pool underneath his face before he felt something pop in both of his eyes and his vision went red for a second and then black.

Cal could do nothing but try to stay standing as his muscles seized and spasms went through his body in quick waves. Sending a numb fiery sensation from his hrad down to the tips of his fingers and toes.

However, even that became impossible as his legs gave up after a short and a particularly nasty spasm. Making his face drag back over the edge of the sink and his chin strike it in passing.

He almost didn't even feel when his head hit the ground as he layed there, strangely detached from whatever was happening. He didn't feel like he was dying, in fact, he didn't even feel much pain at all. The worst one by far the one ravaging his head.

He was just very tired, and pretty annoyed. Since he probably could have seen something like that coming. And because he'll probably have to clean one hell of a mess after what he was going through came to pass.

In the back of his mind, he was aware that it not a good idea, for a variety of reasons. But Cal couldn't help himself, he was so tired, so he fell asleep.

Right there, on the floor in the middle of the bathroom of his strange new house, in the strange new body he just gave himself, in this strange world he found himself in.

In the meanwhile, a very ordinary girl perused through her laptop. Her green eyes gleaming with a dangerous intensity as she found herself reviewing today's script, finding it mostly full of gibberish and errors. Yet despite that, running perfectly fine.

Not only that, but when she went to retrieve the original script to see what was supposed to happen. She found nothing. As in, it didn't exist anymore.

She crossed her arms and brought one hand to her jaw as she read lines and lines of codes only she could see, her face and eyes freezing as she came across something. Then slowly morphing into impassibility as she went back to her laptop, familiarizing herself further with her new sudden reality.
