You know... Perhaps leaving my brother with a very rare material wasn't the best choice I could have made.
I looked at the drawings made on 7 different papers, stick figures, what I assumed to be the tower we were living in and some other things, sprawled around the floor, and the culprit being unaware of how much money I spent on the 12 pieces of paper that he just wasted the 7 of, not counting the two I gave him and the one I used.
I only had 2 more pieces of very expensive paper...
Great.
"Another helmet?"
Ezra asked, looking curiously at the said helmet in my hand. I sighed, taking out the small bag of sweets in my pocket and tossing it to him.
His eyes lit up as he fought it with both hands, immediately opening it and taking a piece to take a bite, humming in pleasure.
I walked over to the desk, at least he didn't touch my blueprint.
I sat down, grabbing a towel and disinfectant. Pulling off the cap, I poured a little on the towel and started wiping the outside of the helmet in silence as Ezra was distracted by the sweets, now sitting on his bed, swinging his legs.
I hummed, moving on to cleaning the inside of the helmet, absently levitating one of the crates closer, and floating the stormtrooper helmet out.
After finishing the wipe down of the clone trooper helmet, I let the force lift it from my hands, and slowly, both helmets slowly disassembled, screws coming out, parts separating.
I watched silently as the rebreather from the stormtrooper helmet floated over to the inside of the clone trooper one, the old rebreather gently levitating down on the desk.
"Cool..."
I chuckled at Ezra's whisper, floating the clone trooper helmet toward me. Checking it over, I hummed thoughtfully.
Yeah, I could modify this right now, it would work for a while.
I just needed to find a smith who would not question why a short person was coming into their shop to ask for a modified helmet.
"Teach me!"
I glanced towards Ezra, his wide, innocent eyes staring at me with hope and full of expectation.
He was a Force-sensitive too, the only problem was that I didn't know how to teach, but I could always try.
I reached out, ruffling his hair with a smile, he didn't mind this time, too focused on the second still floating helmet.
"Later, alright?"
He smiled and nodded, I was sure that a later would come soon enough, but that was the job of the future me to worry about.
___
Later came an hour and a half later, after much pestering. But hey, he lasted 20 minutes before he started pestering me, so there was that, I guess.
"Calm down, Ezra, you are just beginning, you have no need to hurry, concentrate."
I instructed, crouching behind his smaller frame as he had his hand extended towards a small, cup that I had placed on top of a crate.
My instructions were simple enough for a child his age to understand, concentrate, feel it out, and guide the said feeling to pick up the cup as you would normally do without the force.
His eyes were closed, his hand extended as he tried to focus. I could feel the force around him pushing minutely but never reaching the cup. He managed to feel the force and direct it somewhat. He had talent, but it was still the start.
He has been trying to lift the cup for a while now. I smiled, reaching out, the force around Ezra following my guidance as it focused, managing to reach the cup.
I gave it a slight nudge upwards, the cup lifting off of the crate as it started levitating.
I hummed, keeping quiet as I let off my influence of the force on the cup, it started wobbling slightly, Ezra not being experienced enough to keep it steady.
"Good job."
I patted him on the shoulder, and his eyes snapped open, the concentration wavered, the force around the cup dispersed as it fell down.
"I did it!"
He exclaimed loudly, a bright smile on his face almost blinding. I stood up, crossing my arms as he jumped around excitedly.
I reached out, placing a hand on his head to stop him in his tracks, getting him to look at me.
"You know what that means right?"
Ezra blinked, clearly confused.
"What?"
My smile widened further.
"More practice! Do it again."
He turned around, facing the cup again. Extending his hand, I felt the Force around him pulse, trying to reach out to the cup again. This time, he made it further than last time, the gain of the little success giving him the confidence to try more, since he now knew that he could reach success.
I walked over to my bed, sat down, and watched him practice. He would get it, I believed him.
It would take him a little while, but he would manage to get it, that was for sure.
I lay down on the bed, floating over the last few pieces of paper to me. I looked at them for a moment, thinking. From what I knew of this world, and it wasn't even half of the information available in my previous life, I needed to make some future plans, a safety measure, if you will.
I sighed, floating over a pencil, I could get the blasters soon enough, I just needed more credits.
We were comfortable for now, but custom parts would be more expensive to get, and I would need to work harder if I wanted something functional, instead of the standard blasters I could find on the storm troopers.
