As Tempest and the New Ottawans said their goodbyes to everyone, they began their trip home. On the ride, Tempest held Kett who was sound asleep. Spencer was driving the Autowa back to their city.
When we get home, take some time to relax before jumping into the various tasks that await us.
I know... I just can't believe he's still gone..
Well, he did leave us in very capable hands.
I hope so.
As the Autowa arrived in New Ottawa, there was a somberness in the air. As Spencer shut off the Autowa and took Kett inside, Tempest addressed everyone.
I am aware there is much to do. We have to rebuild this nation, rebuild the relations between the demons and ourselves, but for today, everyone has the day off. Rest, relax and reflect on what the Ghost of Ottawa gave us with his sacrifice.
As Tempest went inside, Tempest went straight to the balcony lighting a cigarette. Their expression was empty, exhausted, scared and sad. After finishing up the cigarette, Tempest went inside and wrapped themself in a blanket and laid down on the couch. How were they supposed to compete with the Ghost as a leader?
As their brain overloaded, Tempest fell asleep. As they slept, Spencer was the only one awake.
I should have dinner ready for when they both wake up. After all, those to cried so much at the funeral. Only seems fair that I make dinner.
As Spencer cooked, the New Ottawans began to feel the weight that the Ghost's absences had left.
Tempest didn't wake up until morning. They left the house quietly and went over to the Committee Building and began signing paperwork. As they worked, Tempest became frustrated and knocked over a stack of papers revealing a note. As Tempest unfolded it and read it, tears began to roll down their cheeks.
Tempest, in the event you found this, you're frustrated and I have recently died. Do not worry about the things out of your control. The documents you're signing are plans to help rebuild New Ottawa. I know you'll make a fine leader. ~ The Ghost of Ottawa.
Tempest wiped their eyes and went outside where people had begun to gather.
Listen up! Today is the day we begin rebuilding! Stand up and take pride! The Ghost said we can all do this, so let's show him that he was right in choosing us!
The crowd nodded and set to work repairing the damaged building and continuing the progress the Ghost had started.
