章 65: Eerie Voices

It's windy in the woods outside, much windier than usual. It's the kind of wind that makes you wonder if you're hearing eerie voices or if it's just the way air is shifting in a frenzy through the trees. That's what I wake up to. That and a pounding headache. 

It's still dark, so I haven't been asleep nearly long enough, which is disappointing. That was part of the reason for drinking in the first place. 

I pull myself up off the couch, stretching the kinks out of my neck, and pour a glass of water for myself in the kitchen, gulping it down with some pain pills in the hopes that it will dull the ache in my head. That's when I hear the voices again, but this time they're not outside. They're coming from the living room—from right where I was sleeping on the couch.
