3% Somewhere Trapped in Time: I love You Through Eternity / Chapter 4: Thinking About Him

章 4: Thinking About Him

White House Garden is located West of M Nation. The house was erected on a highland, and the place has beautiful scenery of mountains in the North and a vast ocean in the south while lakes in the east.

Twenty years ago, her dad completely renovated the place for her grandma Lucy. Now that she had aged, she had entrusted entirely the place to her granddaughter Violet.

"Hello, grandma! How are you feeling today?" Violet approached the woman in a wheelchair

"My Violet!" Lucy widened her smile to see her lovely granddaughter.

She resembles a lot of her mother, except for the green eyes she got from her dad, and Lucy thinks it makes her granddaughter even prettier.

"You looked so happy, grandma."

"We have so many guests again." Lucy beamed as she replied to her granddaughter.

Violet nodded and smiled as she responded, "Today is Sunday, grandma. Many families had a picnic in the garden."

The older lady clapped her hands and said. "Ah! I haven't followed what day it is today."

Violet looked up and glanced at Madeline, her grandma's nurse.

"Miss Violet, I've told your grandma what day today, but she seemed to have forgotten fast."

"Alright. It is understandable. Granny has Alzheimer's now." Actually, it amazed them that she lived for longer times after being terminally ill twenty-five years ago. Violet leaned over and asked her grandma with a gentle voice. "Have you had breakfast, grandma?"

Lucy shook her head. "I'm waiting for you."

"Aww, grandma... Then, let's have breakfast together!" said Violet.

She commanded the wheelchair, and they went to the dining area. They entered a massive room that was surrounded by glass walls.

"Flora, open the curtains."

The sun is about to rise. Immediately, the scenery of the ocean and mountains meets their eyes.

Violet sat on the dining chair next to her grandma at the round table. Lucy's wheelchair was positioned in her usual spot, and Violet sat down on her right while Madeline was on her left.

Although they can get a robotic nurse, Violet believes a human caregiver is still the best option. And even Madeline helped Lucy to feed. Violet will often be the one to help her grandma when she is not swamped with work.

Soon, the sun slowly rose above the sky. They had a clear view of the already crowded garden below the ridge.

Violet looked at her grandma. She was happy to see her face brighten.

Before her grandparents owned a noodle soup, her grandma cherished her memories of mingling with her customers. However, she gave up the store to recuperate her health when she was diagnosed with a rare illness.

After a few years, and now she had completely healed and recovered, Lucy missed running her noodle store. But her son-in-law did not let her work.

Instead, her son-in-law supported her decision to open the White House to the public and hired many people to help her run the place. Soon, her son-in-law bought all the land in the neighborhood.

Everything surrounding the highland, including the lakes in the foothill, is now owned by Violet after she gives it as a graduation gift.

Since Violet is not interested in engaging in social affairs in High Society, she accompanies her grandma and lives in isolation. She didn't regret it as she preferred a peaceful life to live in a noisy city.

A year ago, she built a restaurant and a cafe to have something she could earn on her own, aside from writing a novel, which is only a hobby.

She hid this from her family, but her friends found out and were interested in reading her works. At first, it was just their hobby to indulge themselves in creating content until big productions were interested in making it a TV series.

They love to invest in it to turn into a drama series. However, instead of accepting their offer, they built their own company.

And as for her, she continued her life here in the province. Her friends are all wealthy. She does not worry that they would neglect the company.

She focuses on running things in the White House Garden. After more guests visit the place, she has two more restaurants and cafes. In fact, many came to shoot preNup photos.

They say it was perfect for a wedding photoshoot.

Violet used to laugh at how they seemed to insult her single life. But she is happy to see a happy couple love each other like her parents. It is just that….

"The sun is spectacular, as always."

Lucy mumbled, and that disrupted Violet's train of thought. She glanced at her grandma and quoted,

"Its beauty is timeless. Just like you, grandma."

"I believe you because you looked like me. Look at you… You were hiding your beauty out here in the province. Instead of enjoying your life in the city or traveling the entire world. But here you are, stuck with me."

"But it feels more than home to be here, grandma."

Lucy moistened her eyes after she heard her granddaughter's sweet words. She placed her wrinkled hand on Violet's, resting on the table.

"Violet, you did a great job. Your great-grandparents in heaven are proud of you for keeping this place lively. And I would die happy too."

"Grandma? What are you talking about? Please don't say that again." Violet pouted when her grandma Lucy was joking with her.

"Don't worry, child. I would still live until I saw my great-grandchildren."

"Oh." Violet creased her forehead and told her grandma. "But Seth is not interested in getting married yet."

Lucy looked up and smiled at her granddaughter. "I am not talking about your twin brother."

"Then my younger brothers? But they were still young and had no interest in tying down like their older brother."

Lucy chuckled. She extends her arm and grabs her granddaughter's hand. "I am not talking about them."

"Grandma?" Violet's eyes widened. She doesn't know whether to laugh or cry. Her grandma is absolutely a teaser. The older lady knew she had no boyfriend, and that was since birth. Then her grandma pokes fun at her. She mouthed, "Don't joke on me, grandma."

"That is not a joke. Believe me. I have the tongue of an angel. When I encouraged your mom to look for a husband, she had you two months later."

It means her mom got pregnant just a short time after her grandma's teasing, which is no way Violet would imagine herself in such a situation.

She didn't judge her parents for having her out of wedlock. They have a beautiful love story. And in her case, she had no boyfriend until now because she hadn't found the perfect man.

After all, no man is as romantic and gentlemanly as her dad. It was the very opposite of the guy she knew.

'Shoot! Why would I think about him!?' Violet freaked out on her head when her heart fluttered suddenly.

For many prominent men she knew, that man was the least of her interest. And why?

She wouldn't like a bully like him!

Every guy she encountered treated her pleasantly. But that man was too arrogant because he was seated on top of the world. Everyone bowed to him; even her brothers, cousins, and entire family respected him, which she believed he didn't deserve!

Thinking about him annoys her so bad that she wants to punch him once she sees him again.

'Ugh!' That guy constantly pesters her mind.

"Child, are you thinking of him now?"

Violet's jaw dropped on the wooden floor. How did her grandma know she was actually thinking about some guy?

Besides, this man is not her crush, but her archenemy!
