It was against her will to share the table with Allen. However, she could not kick him out of the house because he had won the older lady's heart.
Earlier, Violet had prepared to leave and have a meal in the Lakeside Restaurant instead. But her grandma dragged her toward the dining hall before she could devise an excuse. When they arrived at the table, she was pleased to see the various dishes, which were all her favorites.
"Why aren't you eating?" Lucy noticed that her granddaughter remained to stare at the dishes. So then, she encouraged Violet to eat. "You should try them. Allen is an excellent chef, like your dad."
'No way that he would be like dad!' Violet protested inwardly.
"I'm glad he knew how to cook these dishes. They were your favorite. Right?" Lucy added.
Violet was speechless. She is tempted to comment but doesn't want to be rude to her grandma. The older lady looks delighted to have another person in the house.
And even though he only received a cold shoulder from Violet. It didn't shake him to stop. Allen put dishes on her plate; she could not refuse because her grandma Lucy looked at them. Violet bears the irritation that lingered in her heart to make her grandma happy.
Half an hour later, the dining hall filled with Allen's laughter, and Violet was embarrassed the longer she listened to her grandma telling a story.
Lucy shared Violet's childhood stories with Allen. The older lady revealed too much information about her, but she could not stop her grandma when she enjoyed talking to Allen.
As the story continues, she feels embarrassed by what her grandma babbles to Allen; Violet wishes the floor to open and swallow her whole.
She could tell that her grandmother Lucy was missing everyone even though she could speak with them through video calls. It is still different having their presence in the house.
"Allen, join me in the library. I will show you Violet's photo albums."
"Grandma?" Allen twinkled his eyes.
"Yes! If you haven't had the idea, I know you will grow this handsome ever since you were a kid."
"Oh. Grandma is keeping my photos?" Allen was a little surprised and was happy that the older lady remembered him.
"Of course! You have several photos of Violet. I have this photo where Violet is wearing a cute pink swimsuit. I'll show it to you."
"Grandma? Why would you show that to him?" Violet, who treats Allen like an air, panicked when she heard the older lady telling this to the guy. that actually shook the hell out of her when it will be not pleasing in the eyes to show her baby photos to Allen.
However, Allen, on the other hand, ignored Violet, kicking him under the table.
"I would love to see our childhood photos, grandma," said Allen. Violet was throwing a dagger look at him, but he only returned a smile.
He leaned over on his side and whispered in Violet's ear. "I probably have those photos already. So you have nothing to be shy about."
Violet was stunned, looking at Allen with her big eyes. She retorted, "You're kidding me!"
"Hmm? What is there to surprise? It was our mothers who took those pictures. I have these photos during your and Seth's first birthday party here in Remy Town."
Violet remembers that she had that photo as well. And Allen is correct that there is nothing to be shocked about. But she was still in disbelief that Allen had sentiment in these gestures.
His life only revolved around becoming the world's wealthiest man. And so, discovering this part of him was new to her.
Violet could not help staring at Allen until she didn't notice how long it had been already if the guy hadn't called her out.
"If you don't stop looking at me like that. I might kiss you again."
For an unknown force, she felt a strange warmth surge in her heart after she heard Allen laugh sexily too close to her ear.
"Humph!" Violet glared at him to hide her blushing cheeks.
Allen is too good at flirting; she must not be captivated by his allure. Who knows how many women he already sleeps with and breaks their hearts afterward?
Although he hasn't been involved in any scandal or a rumor he has a girlfriend, he was always in the limelight where women always threw themselves at him, and she won't be one of them.
After lunch, Violet dragged Allen to the back porch. When she turned around and looked at the guy, he still wore that dazzling smile that blinded her.
"Could you stop grinning like a mad dog?" she blurted out, feeling annoyed.
"Mad dog? Can't you see I am a little fox and cute?"
'Shameless! A cute little fox, my ass! You look more like Naruto's nine-tailed beast that is cunning! A giant ugly fox!' Violet kept fussing inwardly, but she could not stop picturing a cute fox with blue eyes wagging his tail while looking at her lovingly. It caused her nose to bleed.
"Please leave now and never come back," Violet told Allen after regaining her composure. "Don't think that because grandma likes you, you are welcome here!"
Violet took a step backward when Allen approached her. She warned him, "Just stay where you are!"
However, that isn't enough to threaten him. Allen chuckled and leaned over. "What a cute kitten."
'Seriously? Is he implying I was a cute kitten?'
"I'm not!" Violet glared at Allen, but the guy kept leaning until he was too close to her; she could smell a faint cologne from his body. She wondered how he still had a pleasant odor after making lunch.
Violet wished to move to the side, but Allen's arm rested on the railings; now, she had nowhere to go and was trapped.
She closed her eyes when Allen bent down.
'Is he going to kiss me again?'
"Is this yours?"
Violet opened her eyes and looked up, gazing at the white kitten with green eyes.
"Meow…"
Violet was stunned to find a tiny kitten inside Allen's big palm. "Where did that come from?"
"It is my same question. Although Uncle Derek has cured your allergy to furs, you were still not keeping any pets. Right?"
Violet replied to Allen while shaking her head. "No. It must be a pet by one of my service crew. I permitted them as long as they handled the animals properly and would not come to the main house. However…"
"Someone is lost…." Allen finished Violet's sentence. The corner of his mouth pulled up into a pure, warm smile.
Violet was in a daze, staring at Allen. He looked so affectionate while petting the kitten's head, which he enjoyed sitting in his warm palm. It purrs and then lays down.
Allen rubs its chin. It looked at him, and he found it adorable. The kitten fluttered its eyes and continued purring. "Ah, you are too cute!."
He raised his hand to Violet's eye level. 'They truly both have beautiful green eyes.'
Violet narrowed her gaze when Allen chuckled while petting the kitten. Suddenly, she could feel strange feelings, like she felt jealous that Allen's attention shifted to the kitten. And the cute one he thought now was the kitten, and it's not her anymore.
'Snap it! Pulled yourself together, Violet!' The back of her head screamed to stop hallucinating.
Why would she desire Allen's attention only fixed on her? Doesn't she want him to disappear from her sight?
