章 50: The First Clash
The Thousand Sunny surged forward, cutting through the turbulent waters, as the air grew heavier with the impending clash. The closer they got to Raftel, the more volatile the seas became. The skies darkened as massive clouds formed above them, swirling ominously. Yet the Straw Hats stood unwavering, their eyes fixed on the horizon. They could sense that they were near, the legendary island was almost within reach.
"This storm isn't natural," Nami said, gripping the helm tighter. "It feels like the entire ocean is reacting to our presence."
Robin, standing beside her, nodded. "It's said that Raftel has ancient defenses, traps from the time of the Void Century. This could be one of them."
Despite the storm and the violent sea, Luffy stood at the bow of the ship, a determined grin on his face. "We're almost there, guys! Just a little further, and we'll reach Raftel!"
Before they could celebrate their progress, a deep, thunderous roar echoed across the sea. The Beast Pirates had arrived.
The massive shadow of Kaido, in his dragon form, loomed in the distance. His enormous body twisted and coiled through the sky, lightning crackling around him. His voice boomed across the sea as his eyes locked onto the Thousand Sunny.
"Straw Hat! I've been waiting for this! You're mine!"
Without hesitation, Kaido dove toward the Sunny, his dragon form cutting through the storm clouds like a bolt of lightning. His presence alone sent shockwaves through the air, shaking the ship violently.
"Everyone, prepare for battle!" Zoro shouted, unsheathing his swords.
"Oi! This guy never gives up!" Sanji muttered, flames igniting around his leg as he prepared to fight.
Luffy, still standing at the front, activated Gear 5, his body shifting and growing as he prepared for the clash. His eyes gleamed with a mix of excitement and fury. "Kaido! I'll beat you this time for sure!"
As Kaido descended, the skies erupted with more energy. But before his attack could land, another massive ship approached from the opposite direction—Shanks and the Red-Haired Pirates had arrived. Shanks' ship cut through the storm with precision, and his presence seemed to calm the chaotic sea, if only for a moment.
Shanks leapt from his ship, landing on the water's surface as if it were solid ground. His Conqueror's Haki rippled through the air, pushing back some of Kaido's overwhelming pressure. Shanks' calm but powerful aura filled the area, as his red hair fluttered in the stormy winds.
"Luffy, we've got your back!" Shanks called out, drawing his sword.
Kaido's eyes narrowed as he shifted his attention. "Red-Haired... so you finally show yourself."
Luffy grinned at the sight of his mentor and idol arriving to help. "Shanks! Let's take him down together!"
But Shanks shook his head. "No, Luffy. This is your fight. I'll make sure no one interferes, but you've got to finish this yourself."
Luffy's expression turned serious. He understood what Shanks meant. This was his battle to fight, the final test to prove he was worthy of becoming the Pirate King. Luffy's haki surged, his eyes glowing with determination.
"Fine! Kaido, you're mine!"
With a roar, Luffy launched himself toward Kaido, his fists crackling with Conqueror's Haki. Kaido responded in kind, transforming back into his human form midair and swinging his massive kanabo down at Luffy. The two powers collided, sending a shockwave across the sea that nearly capsized the nearby ships.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Big Mom's fleet appeared on the horizon. The sea churned with unnatural force as Charlotte Linlin laughed maniacally, her voice echoing through the storm.
"Mama-mama-mama! You think you can keep Raftel to yourselves?! I'll take everything! The One Piece, your lives, and that fruit!"
Her children, Katakuri and Perospero, stood ready on deck, preparing to engage anyone in their way.
"We have to get through the other Emperors before we reach Luffy," Katakuri said, his face stern. "Mama won't wait."
Big Mom's ship tore through the storm toward Kaido and the Straw Hats, her eyes gleaming with hunger for power. Her massive Homie, Prometheus, blazed above her, lighting the way through the storm.
As the stormy battlefield grew more chaotic, the Marines weren't far behind. Admirals Fujitora and Ryokugyu, aboard their own ships, had intercepted Shanks' fleet and were closing in fast.
"We can't let them reach Raftel," Ryokugyu growled, his eyes burning with resolve. "We'll stop the pirates here and now."
Fujitora nodded solemnly, though he seemed conflicted. "The balance of the world hangs in the balance, and the truth of the Void Century must not come to light. But we must be careful not to destroy everything in the process."
The two Admirals leapt from their ship, landing on the surface of the water, their Haki crackling in the air. Their presence only added to the tension, making it clear that the battle for Raftel had truly begun.
Back on the Thousand Sunny, the rest of the Straw Hats had their hands full defending the ship from the chaos surrounding them. Zoro engaged in a fierce battle with one of Kaido's elite fighters, clashing swords as the sea roared around them.
"You're not getting in our way!" Zoro shouted, his swords glowing with Conqueror's Haki as he unleashed a devastating attack, cutting through the air with brutal precision.
Sanji, meanwhile, was in the air, taking on several of Big Mom's flying Homies, his Diable Jambe leaving trails of flame in the stormy sky as he kicked them back.
"You guys just don't know when to quit!" Sanji muttered, spinning through the air in a fiery cyclone of kicks.
Luffy's battle with Kaido raged on, their blows shaking the very sea beneath them. Luffy, in Gear 5, was faster and more unpredictable than ever, his rubbery body twisting and snapping with incredible power. Kaido, however, was unrelenting, each swing of his kanabo fueled by an overwhelming force.
"You've gotten stronger, Straw Hat, but it won't be enough!" Kaido roared, bringing his club down on Luffy with a thunderous crash.
Luffy, dodging the attack with ease, grinned. "You're tough, Kaido, but I'm going to take you down, no matter what!"
With a burst of speed, Luffy delivered a haki-infused punch that sent Kaido reeling backward, the force of the blow splitting the storm clouds above. The battle intensified, and it was clear that neither would back down until one was defeated.
As the skies rumbled and the sea churned with the clashing of Emperors, Raftel—the legendary final island—loomed in the distance. The greatest battle in history was about to unfold, with the One Piece, the truth of the Void Century, and the fate of the world all hanging in the balance.
