章 7: 7: A premonition

The next day Ryoichi woke with a sore body. Taking some time to process the cause behind it, he walked up to the bathroom.
After freshening up he walked out of his room and went to Ayame's room where he found her sleeping while strangling a pillow.
"Must have thought I was tired from training…" Ryoichi muttered and walked up to her.
"Ka-san wake up…" Ryoichi shook Ayame, making her groggily open her eyes and wipe her drool.
"Ryo-chan? Yaawn~What time is it?"
"3:20"
"What! Why did you wake me so early!" Ayame exclaimed.
"You can go back to sleep, I just came here to tell you my new training schedule. I will tell you the whole schedule later for now I'm going to train I'll be back before breakfast."
"…Ryo-chan why do you train so much? Even yesterday you were so tired that you didn't eat dinner… does something bother you?"
Ayame questioned, her face taking a serious look that Ryoichi had never seen before.
Ryoichi's poker face cracked at Ayame's expression as he hugged her with a warm smile.
"It's not like that Ka-san, you're son is just a bit power hungry~"
Ryoichi playfully replied making Ayame giggle.
"Anyway don't oversleep again, or I won't be able to face Hanami-sama," Ryoichi warned sternly making Ayame pout.
Ayame has been late for work so many times that Lady Hanami has tasked Ryoichi to wake her in time.
"Yeah, yeah Yawn~ off you go…"
Ryoichi nodded at Ayame and left the room.

With everything set in motion, Ryoichi threw himself into a never-ending process of grinding again. He knew his peaceful training period was coming to an end very soon with Hashirama's death approaching. And with his death, one of the most devastating Wars will begin that in future will be known as the First Great Shinobi War.
Ryoichi has many plans for the upcoming War. One of them is building a faction outside the village. Which would help him procure research materials and equipment. It will also help him with funds. He already has a rough layout for his future organisation, and only needs to improve his Fuinjutsu skills to build a proper base.
The war will also give him enough achievements to get a higher Rank in Anbu. And with it, he can consolidate his control over the village before the next Hokage and his advisers.
And that's not the only thing by showing his talents and prowess, he can bring many clan leaders on his side, not to mention it will be easier to become "Friends" with the young heirs in this War. The War won't be easy for them as they are the generation who grew up in the most peaceful era only listening to the stories of the cruel previous era.
Ryoichi plans to creat scenario where he can help or save heirs to become their friends like Naruto did.
And since he also has no interest in interfering with village developments, convincing more ambitious ones would not be a problem either. Not to forget he's a Senju who's carrying the Will of Fire of the first Hokage and unofficial disciple of the second Hokage…
If he says that the second Hokage asked him to protect the village from shadows it will be even easier. He just have to make sure he doesn't "interfere" with light's work.
So… with his mind completely occupied with the upcoming War, Ryoichi increased his training routine from barely above Saitama's routine to almost pre-Saiyan arc Goku's. And with him absorbing Nature's energy which could not only increase his body's strength but also heal his torn muscles, he managed to push his body's limits even further.
Both his insane physical training and Natural Energy absorption made his body a lot stronger which in turn made his Chakra capacity also jump from Chunin to Jonin.
It's been only a year and Ryoichi can promise that no other Genin is his opponent. And if he uses his Bullet-time and Taijutsu which was polished after many brutal spars with Fox he can fight even Chunins. After all the only thing he's inferior to a Chunin is the amount of Jutsu he has learned.
As the Oni mentioned before, Ryoichi was only taught the basic Jutsus in his first phase of training alongside the common knowledge he needs to be a Shinobi.
It has been a month since he completed the first phase of the training, but he didn't start the second phase which is his official Anbu training. Ryoichi's resolve wavered when he thought about what he'd become after this training, especially when he thought about his mother-Ayame.
Frankly speaking, he's scared that he'll become a walking talking cold machine who neither feels pain nor emotion.
A normal human brain's adaptation is scary much less his which is even scarier.
Ryoichi is truly scared of the adaptation of his mind. He still remembers when he first started watching Hentai in his previous life. At the start, he was only interested in Harem vanilla content. And the first time he watched some dark hardcore shit he felt disgusted for days, but as time passed that disgust changed into amusement to the point that he barely watched any vanilla content for years. It became so bad that it started to affect his daily life, and only after he became bedridden because of his illness that he managed to-or more like forced to stop watching those dark shit.
He died with the pent-up tension of a decade, of course, he had too little energy to care about that decade-long stress.
"I'm home!"
Ryoichi shouted while entering his house after another long day of gruesome training.
'Has she not returned home from work?' Ryoichi thought as he removed his sandals and wore sleepers before walking towards the bathroom.
After freshening up, Ryoichi walked towards the kitchen and sat on the dining table and waited for his mother to return.
While waiting for her, Ryoichi dozed off as he was too tired from the training, and only when the doorbell rang did he wake up.
Ryoichi opened the door and saw one of the maid working under Lady Hanami standing outside. His stomach churned as a sudden foreboding feeling emerged that drove away all his doziness.
"Yes?"
"Ryoichi-san." The maid addresses Ryoichi like he is an adult, well Rhoichi never behaved like a child so it's quite natural for her to speak like that.
"I came here to inform you that your mother has tagged along with Hanami-sama to Fire Capital." The maid continued seeing Rhoichi attentively listening to her.
"Why?" Rypichi questioned. The foreboding feeling increased.
"Lady Hanami's mother has given birth to a healthy hier, but her condition is very critical after the delivery, so Lady Hanami had urgently left for the fire capital."
"What? But Lady Hanami has also just given birth… her health hasn't recovered as well."
"Yes, but nothing could be done since it's an emergency."
"Right…"
"Since I have informed you, I'll take my leave."
The maid bowed and left, leaving Ryoichi standing alone, lost in his thoughts.
Ryoichi didn't stand for long and Shushinned towards Hokage's office.
"Stop!"
The guards standing outside the Hokage's office stopped Ryoichi before questioning him. Only after confirming with Hokage, did they let him enter the office.
"What happened?"
Tobirama questioned in his usual cold tone, not even looking up from the paper he was reading.
"I-I"
Ryoichi stuttered, for the first time not knowing what to to say.
"Hmm?"
Tobirama raised his head, his dull red eyes scanned Ryoichi thoroughly.
"I-I think Lady Hanami and my mother are in danger!" Ryoichi exclaimed.
"And why do you think so?" Tobirama questioned with a monotone voice.
"It-it's my instinct… they are screaming that something is wrong."
"And what do you want me to do about it?"
"Please send reinforcement."
Tobirama's dull cold eyes sharpened as he put down the pen he was holding.
"So you want me to send reinforcements just because you feel something's wrong?"
"Yes…"
"You disappoint me Senju Ryoichi. I thought you were a logical person like me, but I guess I was wrong… sigh~forget it, just leave."
Tobirama waved Ryoichi off and went back to his paperwork.
Ryoichi who heard Tobirama's dismissal bit his inner cheeks and knelt down, bandaged his head heavily on the floor.
"Please! My intuition has never been wrong. Please save my mother Hokage-sama!"
Tobirama who heard the banging sound and Ryoichi's voice raised his head again. A glint passed in his dull red eyes as he saw the kid whom he considered as arrogant as Madara knelt down.
Ryoichi himself was biting his inner cheek till it started bleeding. It wasn't easy for him to kneel down like that. He always had an ego issue even in his previous life, and being reborn again with his superior growing mind also didn't help with that issue.
Ryoichi fully believes that he has the potential to reach the peak of this world-no break the known limit of this world, and knowing about the future only made it easier.
Ryoichi knew about his pride but he doesn't do anything to curb it. Even if he can control his emotions he believes in his father's saying that a man should have a certain amount of pride in him. But of course, that certain amount of pride has long crossed the border of Arrogance.
"…Fine, I'll send some people to check on them, but remember if it was a waste of time, you will be punished severely."
Tobirama warned Ryoichi as he called an Anbu.
"Wolf, you heard it… take a squad with you and check on Hanami and her escort."
"Yes, Hokage-sama!"
"Wait!!! Can I also join the squad?"
Ryoichi who was kneeling raised his head and shouted.
"You can… if you think you can keep up with an elite Jonin team."
Tobirama replied coldly making Ryoichi bit his lips.
Ryoichi knows that he's too slow to even follow the average speed of an elite Jonin, and even if forces himself to, he will be too tired to be any help- no rather than help he'll be a liability.
And not forget his strength… Lady Hanami's escort should have at least a Jonin and multiple Chunin, and if his mother is taken into consideration, the escort should have at least two Jonin. Simply put Ryoichi is too weak to do anything to an enemy that can harm the Lady Hanami's guards.
Knowing all this Ryoichi clenched his fist and replied.
"Sorry for being emotional Hokage-sama, but I hope you can send more than one squad."
"I can't do that."
"Why?"
"Wolf is an S-class Shinobi, if he and his team can't save them then sending another squad or two would not change the outcome. And I can't send more than three as other Shinobis are busy with their jobs, I can't just despatch them over the intuition of a brat."
Ryoichi nodded at Tobirama's explanation with a bleeding lip.
'I know Hokages never explain their reasons, especially someone like Tobirama. He only did that because we are from the same clan and he thinks highly of me.'
The moment Ryoichi nodded, Tobirama motioned to Wolf who immediately disappeared.
'If it's an S-rank it should be fine…' Ryoichi tried to assure himself…
