The student ran hurriedly while continuously looking back, agitated by the fact that she was being chased. Her face was full of blood that was dripping down to her torn school shirt, her eyes were wide in shock and horror, her lips were almost quivering due to the frightening situation that she's in, and her hands were curled up into hard fists. If someone saw her, they wouldn't believe that she was being bullied in the prestigious school that they're in since all the public ever knew about the school is that all of the students were very nice and smart enough to know the consequences of being a bully towards another.
The problem was, in her situation, the bullies were smart academically but they lack enough knowledge about the repercussion of their actions. Nobody had ever heard from her what she's experiencing since she knows that no one would believe her, until now, no one will ever believe her. The hallways of the school were deserted since almost all of the students were inside their classrooms, genuinely spending their time learning things rather than bullying someone due to a very embarrassing and lowly reason.
Blair didn't want to enter the corridors since she will be visible to the others whether it's to the teachers or her fellow students. She was supposed to turn right to the other hallway but then she heard noises of maniacally laughs and yells, ordering her to stop running and face the effect of her intelligence and naiveness. Truly, Blair hasn't done anything wrong to them but merely the reason of being alive. Truth be told, they envy her intelligence since she's a new student but she's already succeeding more than the old students. They order her to do anything they want because unfortunately, Blair's naiveness has caused them to feel as if they can do whatever they want to her.
"Blairy, come out, and let's play!" Lilith's shouts were distinctly heard from the right hallway while it echoed around. Blair's eyes widened more as she heard her voice while the knife that she was holding was scraping the walls.
Blair's blue eyes met with the evil ones while Lilith smirked at her. Blair immediately run towards the left corridor while she panted heavily, her blood and sweat didn't spare her soaked shirt and her hair was sticking on her small face.
Lilith and the others just couldn't accept the fact that Blair is greater than all of them and they wouldn't have the guts to hurt her if Blair wasn't as innocent and inexperienced as a small child. But who could blame her? Her parents had hidden her from the world and the only reason why Blair had finally attended school was because it is her grandparent's condition for her to inherit their companies to continue their legacy. Even her parents are taking advantage of her vulnerability.
Blair's eyes shut tightly as tears fall to her flushed stained cheeks but she opened them again when she realized that everyone could see her and there was no one who's chasing her anymore due to it but she continued running. She couldn't stop now, she had to continue their game of mouse and cat, she wouldn't like anyone to see her like a helpless child and she wouldn't dare to burden them. Her running escalated but someone opened the door and slowly walked toward the direction she is running at, his hands inside his slack's pockets, his face stern and lack of emotions but he stopped in front of her, just a few feet away. Blair's widened eyes fill with shock and panic as she couldn't possibly stop that easily without stumbling just a bit more forward.
As a result, as she tried controlling the way she stopped, she stumbled when she was exactly in front of the teacher which all of them greatly feared but respected more than any of the teachers that they have. Sir Kingsley's stretched-out arms, quickly caught her but Blair hastily tried removing his hands off her arms as her large eyes stared into the stern ones.
"Who did this?" He asked with certainty and voice filled with hatred as his hold of her got tighter, refusing to let her go while his eyes silently examined her condition.
Blair couldn't respond and she didn't want to because opening her mouth to explain her condition will worsen her situation and she didn't want to be seen as weak. As much as she's had enough of Lilith's animosity, she wouldn't want to be the bait of the whole school since once she opened her mouth, they will know how weak she is. She couldn't have that. Blair is still innocent but not as once as she was before, her naivety is slowly disappearing but she remains the person who she truly is.
The students didn't want to gather outside nor to step out of their room because it is evident how much she's in a state of embarrassment and panic, therefore, they wouldn't like to make her pressured and more uncomfortable than she already was.
"I can't imagine being as irrational as the one who hurt her," Alex told with a huge frown while he looked at the young girl's bloody state. Alex then, peeked at his girl classmates since the poor girl outside was as petite as some of them but the girl was smaller. Alex couldn't even comprehend the thought about someone hurting his classmates but the thought about someone who has a selfish heart, in the reality that he sees in front of him, is cold and brutal. His hands turned into tight fists while fighting the urge to go outside and find the culprit behind all of these stupidities.
All of the students inside all of the classrooms are frowning since for the times that they've spent studying in that prestigious school they've never heard of such a case especially they hadn't seen what they're witnessing now despite the absence of the student/s who hurt her; the evidence and the actions of her bully were currently present with the red-haired girl. Her blood was obviously redder than her hair and it made them uneasy, knowing that there could be a possibility wherein other students were experiencing the same thing as the one who's staring at Sir Kingsley in complete panic and dread.
Blair insisted on removing Sir Kingsley's hands off her arms as she could feel all the eyes on her and she didn't want any pity nor attention, knowing that they were only looking at her because of the state that she's in but in reality, they will not care for her if she tells anyone that she's being bullied without the amount of blood and agonizing pain she's evidently drowning in and showing right now. All she wanted was for them to forget about what they're witnessing because in that way no one can pity and make fun of her except for Lilith and her loyal friends because, with them, she hasn't got a choice.
Regardless of how many times she has tried, Sir Kingsley didn't even bulge but didn't tighten his hands on her arms again. "I won't allow you to run away without thinking very clearly and precisely about what's going to be your decision."
Tears threatened to spill again as she struggled to look at him but as she did, she felt as if she's being restrained from herself since all she wanted was to run away but in actuality, she strives for someone to help her because as someone who has experienced what it's like to be manipulated and controlled by everyone around her, she was terrified of coming to somebody to help her and now that the help was in front of her, would she accept it? Or would she refuse to give in?
She knew, just like everybody else that Sir Kingsley's different from everyone. There's something about him that makes someone feel protected but powerless. He might be intimidating and mad but nobody could deny that he's logical and reasonable. He will also not get involved with matters that he thinks aren't worthy of his time and after what he's been through that day, he's still waiting for Blair's decision, no matter how long it takes. So did that mean that he's willing to help her even if she refuses to?
Her eyes roamed around the corridor and saw that nobody was really staring at her, they were all seated while undoubtedly conversing about her but they weren't trying to intentionally make her uncomfortable. They were all her seniors and while at other schools, the seniors will be authoritative and commanding, the seniors in that school were earning their well-deserved respect by their genuine actions and words.
She knew she couldn't get out of Sir Kingsley's grasps and she certainly couldn't break away from her reasonable side. She knew that she eventually will be making that decision and she will finally receive the peace that she deserves. The whole school will be behind her back and at her side except those who aren't as intelligent as the rest. She had caught the attention of Sir Kingsley and while partly she is grateful, she is petrified.
But has she finally become wise?
Hi! I hope you're all well but if you're not, I just want to say that I hope you'll be fine and I wish you all peacefulness and calmness. We're going through some hard times and I also wish my books to be one of your ways as an escape.
