章 124: You don't deserve any of this

The next morning, I woke up with a pounding headache, the remnants of last night's tears still lingering. I groggily sat up in bed, my body feeling heavy and my eyes swollen from crying. I reached for my phone on the nightstand, and my heart sank when I saw 30 missed calls from Carmen and at least 57 unread messages.

The sight of her name on my screen brought a fresh wave of pain, and I decided to ignore it all. I couldn't deal with her right now.

Dragging myself out of bed, I headed to the bathroom for a quick shower. The warm water did little to soothe my aching heart, but at least it washed away the remnants of my tears. After drying off, I dressed lazily in a pair of sweatpants and a loose t-shirt. I wasn't planning on going anywhere today, but the thought of just lying in bed all day seemed unbearable.
