章 162:  Desperate Search

The house, once a sanctuary, now felt like a prison. Each room I entered seemed to mock my helplessness. Elena was nowhere to be found, and the silence was suffocating. My heart pounded in my chest, anxiety and fear coiling tightly around it. I couldn't shake the nagging sense that something was terribly wrong. Where could she have gone? Why hadn't she told me?

Pacing the living room, I tried to think logically, but my thoughts were a chaotic mess. Elena wouldn't just leave without telling me. Something must have happened. I picked up my phone again and dialed Tyron's number for the second time.

"Carmen?" Tyron answered, sounding more alert this time.

"Tyron, she's still not here. I don't know where she is. She wouldn't just disappear like this," I said, my voice trembling with desperation.

"Calm down, Carmen. We'll find her," Tyron said reassuringly. "Have you called anyone else?"

"No, not yet," I admitted. "I just... I don't know where to start."
