-Chapter 39-

I had worked a lot on combat arts, whether in the training yard or in the library; I had spent practically my entire life on that. But now it was time for me to specialize in another direction... Magic.

That's the reason why I attached the last living alchemist of the Royal Alchemists' Guild, who had fallen into disgrace under the reign of Robert Baratheon, to my service while searching for true alchemists all over the world.

I ended up finding many, far more than I initially expected. Although many were true alchemists, numerous ones tried to deceive me. So, with the help of Rossart, the last alchemist of the Royal Alchemists' Guild, I hired all the genuine alchemists because I wanted to use my blood to strengthen people.

How did such an idea come to me?

Simply because recently I met someone named Qyburn, who used my blood to create a blood-strengthening potion.

Basically, it's like a big shot of adrenaline; it enhances all physical abilities beyond the norm for a duration of 5 hours. The problem was this potion required a whole liter of my blood, and I didn't want to drain myself to death just for a potion that wouldn't serve me.

'Since I was already superhuman and couldn't produce it in large quantities to equip my soldiers when they went to battle,' I thought.

Moreover, I discovered that I was a universal donor. I could give my blood to everyone and, in addition to that, the people to whom I continuously gave my blood would become stronger and stronger.

How did I know this?

Very simple, I gave a bit of my blood for an entire moon to 10 prisoners I had taken out of the dungeons of the Red Keep to experiment with them in exchange for a royal pardon.

At first, I didn't think it would pay off, but finally, after just one moon, each of them was no longer fat or thin but was muscular and perfectly according to their basic physique.

All traces of fat or weakness had disappeared, and those who were sick were now in perfect health.

Qyburn was impressed by the result of our little experiment and, like a vampire, he begged me for more of my blood, which didn't bother me because I had an accelerated healing factor. Wounds that usually took a whole moon to heal took only a day for me, so they could drain a liter of blood from me every day without it affecting me.

But I didn't want to become a rare animal in his eyes either, so I gave him a bit of my blood but not enough for him to make too much progress or give it to other people. Just small samples from time to time.

'He must not forget his place and who holds the leash in our cooperative relationship.'

In parallel with my search for mad scientists, I implemented the creation of several workshops where the best artisans and blacksmiths I had at my disposal were improving a prototype of scorpions that I designed with the help of Qyburn.

Daenerys was going to try to land on our shores, and I would do everything to prevent that.

I had no idea what psychological state she was in because, in the series, she ended up mad, and honestly, I didn't want to know. I had chosen my side and my family, and to protect them effectively, I needed the scorpions to be ready before the new year so that I could sell them for the modest sum of 1,000 gold pieces to any city possessing slaves between Westeros and Meereen.

I had a slight preference for the pirates who still dared to venture into the Bay of Slaves because I knew they would dare to kill a dragon. The renown that killing a dragon would bring was too great for madmen like Euron Greyjoy not to attempt it.

I didn't forget the still slave-owning cities like New Ghis, Qarth, and Volantis…

If they could rid us of the threat of Daenerys' dragons before she even set foot in Westeros, it would be the best thing the gods could grant us.

'But I'm not optimistic, how could these wine sacks stop her?'

I thought that without affecting other branches, 100 dragon-killing scorpions could be made by the next moon.

What pirate wouldn't want to become a dragon killer?

What slave-owning city wouldn't want to be rid of the dragon threat?

In fact, even the cities that no longer practiced slavery didn't want dragons in the world anymore.
