Chapter Nine Volume Two: Blue Moon (I)
Theodore, a mighty warrior, a demigod son of Athena, the Greek goddess of strategic war, was going to be a father.
He was the son of a demigod of Ares and a descendant of Aphrodite. As far back as his bloodline goes, he has ancestors from many gods, powerful people, rulers, and politicians, as well as people of beauty and influence.
Having been trained in combat since he was a child, he quickly made a name for himself. He had killed an uncountable number of beings, be they monsters, humans, or fantastical beings like vampires.
His sword techniques were worthy of a son of Athena, his strength would make Ares proud, and his muscular body would easily arouse Aphrodite.
His life was full of battles. The rush of adrenaline that he received as he was inches from being decapitated gave him a feeling of elation. The sword he was wielding would create blood baths, while his hands would crush the necks of those who had survived.
There were not a lot of people he could count on, as he was a lonely man. As a matter of fact, he wasn't even sure if he liked his father or not. In a way, he knew he admired the power that the man possessed.
But one night, as he was drinking under the full moon, he met a woman. She was a beautiful woman with dark gray skin, vibrant white hair, and blue eyes. They just sat together, looking at the moon. As Nyx covered the sky and Artemis rode the moon throughout the purple azure, they would meet, their gaze fixed on the eternal moon.
As time passed, their love blossomed. When they were together, both would forget all about the harshness of life. Theodore knew that she was not a normal human. As he found out that she was a goddess, which meant that they would not be able to be forever together, his heart broke.
However, before going away, she gifted him with a baby girl. She was his bundle of love, his only hope in the darkness.
He promised himself to be a better father than his own, his daughter would be strong but also happy, she wouldn't forget what it means to be alive, her path would be her own.
Her name was Luna and the blue moon shone at her birth, he named her in honor of her mother, the Titan goddess of the moon, Selene.
(Timeskip)
Two people were training, they swung their wooden swords, one was a small girl while the other was a bulky man. The girl put all her earth into it, her body was drenched in sweat as she said "96…97…98…99…100"
As she reached one hundred, her body fell to the ground, she had no strength anymore. Her dad smiled as he saw that. "Here" he said giving her a clay bottle made from pottery.
"Thanks, dad!" she answered taking the bottle and drinking it without stopping.
As she finished the entire bottle, her dad extended his hand, she took it, and they made their way toward their house.
She was unable to walk, so her father carried her.
…
Time passed and today was Luna's birthday, "Happy birthday!" he told her as she woke up. She ran into him, and they hugged. "Yes!" she screamed with happiness.
However, as they were about to celebrate her birthday, they heard footsteps. "Go, hide!" he said before rushing out. Luna cried silently and hid near the 'window' to see what was happening.
"What do you want?" shouted Theodore facing hundreds of people.
"Do you think we will let you be when you killed one of ours?" responded the one who seemed to be the leader.
Seeing them, Theodore narrowed his eyes; he had a good idea of who they were. No, he knew what they were. Vampires.
He knew there was no way out, but he hoped that his lovely daughter could escape. He took out his sword and went into position.
*woosh* a vampire rushed at him; his claws-like hands tried to scratch his face.
Theodore sidestepped and simply swung his sword at the arm of the vampire. Blood flowed out of the vampire's body. "Haaa" he screamed.
*Swing* another vampire tried to attack the demigod. He reacted quickly by swinging his sword at the vampire's hand, but the claws of the vampire blocked his attack.
*woosh* multiple vampires took the opportunity and rushed at the same time while the son of Athena was occupied.
Luna's father used more strength end ejected the previous vampire while swinging his sword to the side and mortally injuring another one.
He then rushed at another one and *swish* he cut his head, but while that happened, he was injured on the ribs.
The vampires were encircling him, and his blood was gushing from the wounds he was suffering from. They appeared to lose consciousness and were relying on instinct, and their instinct told them that if they approached too close, they would be killed.
Theodore knew he had to use that. His blessing as the grandson of Ares, which was boosted by being the son of Athena and his powerful mind. His eyes glowed blood-red, his muscles tensed, and his veins were now even more visible.
His injury started healing and his blood on the ground started floating.
*swoosh* in an instant one of the vampires was cut into two. Horror was written on the face of the others, they couldn't react.
A sword made of blood pierced another one as Theodore rushed at the whole group.
The ground cracked; all the vampires sprinted toward him. The bodies of their comrades were turning to ashes.
*tchang* as the demigod's sword once again fought again the vampire's claws, it broke.
*stab* Luna's father launched it onto one of the vampires' heads.
Boom he used his fist to fight them.
*boom boom boom*, the vampires fall one at a time, but this was not without a price. Even Theodore's extremely fast regeneration was unable to keep up with the number of injuries that he had sustained. His life force was being consumed as he was getting hurt more and more.
There was no hope for him. He was on the verge of death.
Among the hundred that were there when the fight began, only five remained, and the leader was one of them. He thought that with a hundred vampires, the self-proclaimed most powerful race after gods, they would have an easy victory, even against a legend.
But he was wrong, he was scared, and his pants were now wet as he was one of the few vampires who was still conscious even with all the semi-divine blood in front of him.
In the midst of the chaos, Theodore with his destroyed body rushed at him, and swung his sword at him
*swish* but it had no effect on him as Thanatos approached Luna's father and flew away with his soul.
