I kept trying to pull my hand back, especially when I saw a flash of silver in his other hand.

Was he going to drug me again?

I panicked even more and wanted to punch him, but suddenly he put a silver bangle around my wrist, which fitted snugly, like a custom-made handcuff.

I became alerted. This shouldn't be an ordinary bangle. It looked too plain to be a piece of jewelry.

With his wealth, he should be able to give me something pretty, so this bangle was over suspicious to me.

“What’s this?” I asked him with suspicion.

He ignored my question as he looked at my wrist and played with the bangle with a satisfied look.

“It looks good on you,” he said before lifting my hand up and placing a lingering kiss on the back of my hand, sending tingles to my body.

Stupid matebond! I screamed in my head. No matter how much I hated him, the stupid matebond would make me feel attracted to him.

He smirked as if he knew the effect of his kiss on my body.
