When the emperor told them that they were welcome to leave the party that instant, Prince Qui did not let the 'princess' escape. His hands clasped on her elbow and he directed her to the exit. He did not let go of her even though she was protesting. Her constant nagging and slapping of his arm only made more memories come back to him.

He remember thinking that she sounded suspicious, but he didn't think that it was the very thing that she was going through. He thought that she had been up to no good that moment and cut their conversation short.
