In the old house owned by Marlin and Melinda, there in the sitting room was the unconscious Shin laying on the sofa still deep sleep, and Rei who was sitting beside him thinking of ways to improve his magic control. After a long time of thinking and soliloquy. "Arggh" The silence in the room was then finally interrupted by the still dozing Shin "oh? you're awake Shin" Rei asked him rhetorically "What happened Bug bro Rei?" he asked still confused and unsure of what took place outside the house in the training ground "Nothing much actually happened, you just passed out due to exhaustion after training so hard with uncle Michel" Rei said trying to cover up the true story about what happened took place outside "Training....." Shin said trying to recall what happened. As though a spark memory came to him "Aha I remember now we had a duel and you punched me so hard that I couldn't regain my balance and I passed out and there was this crazy skill you had done at that point in time, it was like an invisible punch that landed on my face" Shin said while touching his face still feeling the pain if the punch "I can teach you how to use that technique if you wanna learn it though" Rei quipped in with a thumbs up. Shin with a dumbfounded smile said to Rei "can I possibly learn that after all it's your technique, and most of your technique are just too hard for me.to cope with" trying to admonish what Shin had just said now "Don't say such things Shin remember when you when I couldn't grasp the chantless method of casting magic spells you were the one who guided me and thought me what I needed to know about it, so why give up on this to, I'm sure if you're able to learn this then you will definitely achieve something great in the future" Shin made sigh of relief before putting on the face of resolutio "Ok big bro, so when are we going to start" ge asked Rei stilled confused because it was already dark "and to the looks if things its seems like it is night already". "Don't worry Shin we will continue tomorrow, for now just rest a bit and regain your strength" Rei then stood up walking towards the stairs "As for me I'm going to my room to have my sleep too, good night Shin". Covering himself with the bedspread "Good night big bro see you tomorrow"
While in his room Rei looked outside through the window recalling what he had thought about during his stay downstairs and how to progress in his research. "Then I have to test it out" he said to himself. Clearing the ground he sat un a meditating posture closing his eyes "I just have to breathe, instead of collecting the magical energy as a byproduct I have to collect the magical energy as the main raw material which is the natural energy" then started to breathe in and out, he continued this for a long time then immediately the temperature of the room started to increase by heaps and bounds shortly after that a yellow like aura could be seen very visibly around Rei "Yes yes I'm getting it...." knock knock knock he was then now interrupted from his joyous moment by a tremendous knock. On opening his eyes to his greatest dismay it was morning. "What just happened...." BAM the door was shattered and Melinda barged in a vain popped out of her head as if it was about to bust out "YOU BRAT YOU ARE STILL TOO YOUNG TO BE SNUBBING ME, ITS THREE GOOD HOURS, YOUR BREAKFAST IS STILL THERE WAITING FOR SOMEONETO DEVOUR IT, AND MERLIN AND SHIN HAS VEEN WAITING FOR YOU, WHAT DO YOU GAVE TO SAT ABOUT THAT, BRAT" Rei was still processing the shock of seeing the morning sun "AND WHAT'S WITH THAT METHOD OF SLEEPING ANYWAY" she yelled at him. Rei who still staring outside with disbelief then asked "Grandma Is this the day grandpa is taking Shin and I out for the beast haunt" Melinda was still furious and yet confused "yes of course as if you didn't know that your self". Shin ten brought his head down and his appearance became gloomy "ahh, is that so, then grand ma good morning " he said walking out of the room.
Coming down from the stairs, he noticed that his breakfast was a little messed up "ugh I forgot, Shin ate it" that was a little deal they made, anyone who was the first to finish his own meal would eat the other's. "I should have remembered" he sighed and sat down to finish his meal which was barely a meal to eat or more of a meal for dogs. While still caressing the remains on the dish Melinda came down from the stairs looking at the gloomy sleepy Rei "Oi Rei when you're done with your meal you should come outside Merlin and Shin are waiting for",Melinda then walked outside to where Merlin and Shin where doing some warm up while waiting for Rei.
A while later Rei is done with his meal, coming out from the house Merlin immediately noticed some changes asked him "Rei did you not sleep well last night what's wrong with your face" he gestured towards his eyes "or more importantly you've a more build up body than before" Shin quipped in "it maybe it's just my imagination" he corrects
"Ok ok here now, I'm handing over this magical equipment" she brought two pairs of boots "this are magic boots, although there just some pair of ordinary boots before a while ago but now I wrote some magical character on them which makes them a magic boot that can help increase agility and speed" she then paused for a while looking at the people she was addressing making sure their attention is present "further more if you run into any trouble this boots can help you escape in no time" she gestured at the boot with a boastful smile "more importantly please make sure you don't get hurt ok?" showing off a really concern face, trying to suit up the worried old woman, Rei gave her a reassuring smile "don't worry grandma we will be fine" backing Rei up Shin also quipped in "and besides we got grandpa, he will surely protect us" on hearing those touching words a drop of tears fell from both Merlin's and Melinda's eyes 'what wonderful kids they both thought together'
WAIT WAIT
Just after bidding themselves goodbye a certain person was seen rushing towards them shouting at the top of his voice, and behold it was uncle Michel who was shouting. "Uncle Michel what's the issue" Rei asked him for being so eager to see them off on their hunt. Gasping for air Michel forcefully spoke I wanted to give Shin this sword" he brought out a medium sized sword from a piece of cloth he used to wrapped it "this is one of my greatest reward as a swordsman given to me by the king to keep me safe, just maybe what kept me safe throughout my life might just help you two out" he then regained his posture looking towards Merlin gripping his shoulder tight "please.make sure you keep them safe" Merlin returned the pat on the shoulder "don't worry about that, no harm will befall them" he said reassuring them.
After bidding themselves goodbye for the second time they now began their journey . While on the road Merlin noticed Rei wasn't with his boot and asked "hey Rei don't you need your boots" Merlin asked in curiosity "I don't need it" he said looking at his palm in resolution "in other to test out my newly acquired power I need to be in a pinch, and that boots will just end up saving my ass, so I don't need such things " he assured Merlin. Nodding to the answer he just received he then asked shin "what about you Shin, did you bring yours along". "Yeah of course I brought it, it's in the bag " He gestured at the bag he was carrying. Merlin once again nodding to the answer he received "then let head out for your first real combat training"
