Layla sniffled back her tears, not letting them drop as she heard Lucius. Though he only provided her the bits, she could understand why it was difficult for Lucius to speak about it. Some wounds never heal and Lucius was the example of it.

Wiping the tears from the edges of her eyes quickly, Layla caressed his back as he leaned down, burying his face in her neck while closing his eyes. "I've two regrets in my life: losing my elder brother and best friend."

Layla didn't say anything since no words of comfort could bring warmth to him. 'Maybe one day you'll forgive yourself,' she thought.

Lucius was the first to pull away, wiping the tears, hanging on the edges of his eyes. He raised his head to meet Layla's gaze. "I didn't mean to upset you today," he murmured.
