章 10: Chapter 10
Makoto sighed with a huge slap mark on his left cheek left by Ram. While he didn't died, the slap felt like he was going to die in sooner or later perspective.
Perplexed, he looked towards the maid who by the time being managed to calm down. Honestly it was hard to tell considering that she wore monotone mask on her face whole the time.
"So what you were trying to tell me is that the mansion will get attacked by someone in 2 day prior and you don't even know who is the culprit behind it or can't tell how you know this?"
The only thing Makoto did was just nodded with a sheepish smile patting his left cheek which he was sure that it got swollen up because of Ram's actions….seriously how hostile that slap was? Well, he knew that he deserved it but it wasn't him but his rotten luck that caused this.
Ram started to think about this matter at hand and it took her a minute or so to finally exhale the air she took, out of her mouth as looked towards Makoto.
"So by telling me this information what kind of things do you expect me to do?"
Makoto nervously looked around himself as sulk his head down, by the time being he understood that migraines will be his usual problem.
"I think that there is a traitor in this mansion."
This took Ram by surprise. "A traitor?" she asked the boy.
Makoto nodded. He wasn't a complete idiot to believe that Elsa would have gotten into the mansion without the help from inside.
"While I can't tell you how I know this, I ask you to at least believe me."
Ram placed a hand on her cheek.
"And why should I believe you, and besides...why are you so sure that I am not the traitor myself?"
Makoto looked towards Ram with the dumbest look a person like him could make.
"You are a traitor?" He tilted his head slightly only for Ram to remain silent at such a dumb binding of words. "…" she pinched the bridge of her nose trying to sooth the headache she got from this.
"And why didn't you ask help from my sister or Emilia-sama?"
Ram had a point but Makoto simply sighed.
"Emilia is probably occupied with her own fair share of problems since she is royal candidate and as for Rem-san…" He looked towards Ram straight into her eyes. "She is wary of me due to witch's scent isn't she?"
Ram calmly looked towards him for a short period of time before closed her eyes in an exhaustion.
"At least you are aware of this yourself. Fine, I will help you out despite it being pain in the ass."
Makoto chuckled. "Not really a chain of words a maid would use, eh?" Ram rolled her eyes. "For a guest you are surely a pain in the butt."

Now they both were sitting on the same bed being surrounded by cuts and torn furniture caused by the tantrum earlier.
"Do, you, at least have any clues who this traitor might be?"
Makoto shook his head.
"I don't really know and beside the only notable thing I know about the possible traitor is that they are probably high level mage."
Ram sudden enough narrowed her eyes on such a description.
"Can you be more specific?"
Makoto nodded. "Earlier I asked Beatrice to tell me the possible way to get over her tight security and the answer she gave me was that the attacker should be high level mage who can deceive even high spirit like Beatrice."
Ram's face seemed to change in color as Makoto said those words but regardless he decided to continue. "I don't think Rem, Beatrice, Emilia or even Puck are traitors the only person who has my suspicions is…"
"…Lord Roswaal." Ram continued for Makoto.
"Y-Yes, it is Roswaal-san but I can't be sure about tha-"
"Makoto." Ram interrupted him with her voice as stern as it could be. "Do you know why Mathers family is considered to be one of the strongest in Lugunica?"
Makoto shook his head.
"Mathers are most powerful mages in the entire kingdom and as a maid myself I should not say things such as this but I am afraid that your theory about Lord Roswaal is truth."
"…" the thing that Makoto feared the most is now a truth and what was even worse was the face of Ram as she was looking towards him. It wasn't really a secret that she admired her master and Makoto could imagine how hard of a blow it was to her, but there wasn't much he could do.
"Maybe Roswaal-san isn't really the culprit?"
Ram looked towards Makoto with a calm look given for a person in this situation. The boy strangely tried to remain neutral given the facts but it was to be expected of a person like Makoto.
She simply shook her head.
"I would like to deny your accusations but facts are way too strong." Her tone was confident enough to make Makoto understand what she meant behind those words. It was like saying 'What are our next moves, boss?'
Makoto thought of it for a good second until an idea struck his head.
"We have one major superiority in this matter." He said raising his finger as a cold sweat ran down his forehead.
"And what is it?"
The smile on Makoto's face was confident.
"We know when the attack will happen and we will be prepared when this will happen."
Ram wasn't sure whether this guy was dumb or maybe too confident given that their enemy is Roswaal Mathers the strongest mage in the kingdom of Lugunica but what amazed her even more was the fact of her being cooperative, maybe it was magic of his or something else but somehow she fully believed the guy despite the strong witch scent coming from him.
"Fine by me. Just state what kind of plan you have in mind?"

By the time being Makoto and Ram separated with each other going to do their own work. On Ram's part was to get herself prepared for a possible fight as well as convince Rem to believe Makoto while the guy in question will try to convince others and those others being…
"Beatrice."
The girl with twirly hair was caught playing with her Nii-chan while Makoto barged in.
"Is it some kind of habit of yours to enter without the permission?" The girl completely annoyed answered only for Makoto to sheepishly chuckle.
"Oh Makoto-kun~! Fancy seeing you here." The fluffy cat waved as flew towards Makoto.
The boy in question exhaled as his look was serious.
"I think we have a problem." He said taking both high spirits' attention.
His explanation was brief but it was enough to make both of them understand what was going on and to say that Beatrice and Puck weren't surprised was to say nothing at all.
"That clown...I knew that something was off about him." Puck said in a rugged tone which made it clear that he was enraged by the doings of the Mather.
It was already strange why Elsa was trying to get Emilia's insignia and now it became clear that the one who planned it all was non other than Roswaal himself but main question remained and that was…
"Why?" Beatrice sounded that particular question. "Why would Roswaal try involve to such a petty moves such as assassination? And besides, why assassination of Emilia while he is her own sponsor?"
Makoto could only wonder, but he decided to worry about his reasoning for later.
"I am here to ask for your both assistance."
Puck and Beatrice looked towards each other for a long while.
Puck most definitely would agree since it is Emilia's safety that is going on in here but in the same time he wouldn't be much of use due to the time when the assassination would be going on.
On the other hand was Beatrice...Makoto wasn't sure whether she would be willing to cooperate in such a scenario so he prayed to whatever god there was that she would agree.
It didn't took him long to look towards her eyes.
"While the things you said do sound plausible my decision would be the same and as spirit who is obliged to protect this mansion and library from whatever danger there is...I shall agree, I suppose."
A smile covered Makoto's face as he ran towards the spirit girl and took her into a deep embrace.
"Wh...What are you doing, I suppose!?" The blonde girl pouted completely surprised by such a display.
But at this time Makoto didn't cared much for those trivial things as he was glad that Beatrice was so cooperative...a little something that brought smile towards Puck's face as he watched Makoto and Beatrice together.

Yup I am deciding to completely say 'Fuck U' to the og plotline and do a lil something on my own since I been reading some not so pleasant comments about this. The plot I am planning is completely different from the one that was originally and a little question...Do you want Ram in harem?
