Chapter 119 The Most Dangerous Man in the Seven Kingdoms

After saying that, Jack sat on Korakshu's dragon saddle. With the dragon saddle, it was a great help to riding a dragon.

Especially when riding a giant dragon like Korakshuu which has no bulge on its back.

Speaking of it, there are saddles, stirrups, and horseshoes in the world of Ice and Fire, but they are only limited to Westeros because the knight culture in Westeros is well developed.

But Essos had no horseshoes or stirrups. They knew about this technology, but it was not technical at all.

But the people of Essos were too lazy to use stirrups and horseshoes, they only used saddles, and most of the time they still preferred slaves to carry the sedan chair when going out.

As for the Dothraki, the nomadic people with the largest number of cavalry in Essos, Jack didn't know how to evaluate them.

Most of them had saddles and stirrups, but no horseshoes, or they didn't need horseshoes.

Since they had no shortage of war horses, they naturally did not need horseshoes to reduce the wear and tear of horse hooves.

But there is still a small number of people who are very confident in their riding skills. They believe that only by sticking close to the horse's back can they achieve the state of unity between man and horse.

As the Korakhu took off, Jack steered it towards the farmers in the outer valley.

Seeing the giant dragon rushing towards them, all the people who were originally just watching the show suddenly reacted and fled in all directions.

After Jack dispersed the crowd, he slowly disappeared into the sky.

But not long after, the ravens in the valley flew frantically to all parts of Westeros.

Soon the news of the appearance of a giant dragon in the valley spread, and for a time the people of the seven countries were in panic, and many nobles who were still loyal to the Dragon family were ready to make moves.

King's Landing, inside the Red Keep.

One of the most powerful strategists in Game of Thrones, Littlefinger - Petyr Baelish received news from the Vale of Erin.

Because the duke family of the valley is the Eileen family, the valley is also called the Eileen Valley.

Jon Arryn, the deceased last Duke of Arryn Vale, was a very key figure.

After his death, his wife took over the management of the valley, but his wife not only loved Littlefinger deeply, but also poisoned him to death.

Littlefinger is a very powerful politician, and his life is full of legends.

Born into a poor family, Petyr has devoted his life to improving his humble class, craving power and status, hoping to become a great man.

Petyr has a natural talent for money and trade, and is an unrivaled master of intrigue and conspiracy.

Of course, even greater than his intelligence is his ambition.

Petyr was short and of average build, but had a handsome appearance.

He has grey-green eyes, a small stubble on his chin, and dark hair with a few streaks of grey.

Petyr Baelish's great-grandfather was a hedge swordsman from Braavos who served House Corbray, so when his son became a sworn knight he chose the Titan's head as his family sigil.

Lord Baelish's father was the smallest of the many petty lords, owning only some rocky lands in the smallest of the Five Fingers Peninsula.

During the War of the Ninepenny Kings, his father became friends with Hoster Tully of House Tully, so Petyr was sent to Riverrun as an adopted son.

In Riverrun, Petyr grew up as a ward alongside people of much higher status than him.

The Tully children - Catelyn, Lysa and Edmure Tully - were also the first to give him the nickname "Littlefinger", a reference to his family's territory.

When they grew up, Petyr fell in love with Catelyn, but Catelyn treated her like a brother and had no other feelings for her.

When Catelyn was betrothed to Brandon Stark, Petyr challenged the much older Brandon to a duel for her.

Brandon wins easily, but spares Baelish's life at Catelyn's request.

Catelyn never spoke to him again after that, and burned every letter Petyr had written to her after Brandon's death.

Unlike her sister, Lysa Tully had been in love with Petyr since childhood.

She ignored his infatuation with Catelyn and sneaked into his bedroom when he was drunk because of Catelyn's rejection and went to bed with him.

The confused Petyr may have mistaken Lysa for Catelyn, and indeed called her "Catelyn" that night.

He has since claimed (privately) that he took the virginity of both Tully sisters.

Soon, Lysa became pregnant with Petyr's child.

When Hoster Tully found out, he forced Lysa to drink moon tea to abort the child, and banished Petyr from Riverrun, as House Baelish was too weak to marry into the Tully family.

Petyr continued to have an affair with Lysa Tully, even after she married Jon Arryn, and Lysa convinced Jon Arryn to promote Petyr to be tax collector of Gulltown.

After he increased local tax revenue tenfold, Lord Jon began to promote him again and again until he finally became King Robert Baratheon's treasurer.

His wealth and influence won him many allies and connections, including the guard of King's Landing. He also ran a brothel not only for money but also for information.

With these resources as a foundation, Baelish quickly gained a huge increase in political power through a series of lies and betrayals.

Just before the events of Book 1, Lysa's husband, Lord Jon, Hand of the King, discovered that all of King Robert Baratheon's children were not his own,

but the result of incest between Jaime Lannister and Cersei Lannister. He decided to inform the king of this discovery.

Petyr skillfully manipulated Lysa into poisoning her husband, telling her that this was the only way to stop him from giving his son away as an adoptive son.

After Lord Jon's death, he had Lysa write a letter to her sister Catelyn accusing Queen Cersei Lannister of poisoning Lord Jon.

After Eddard Stark became Hand of the King, Catelyn Tully also came to King's Landing to discuss with her husband about someone trying to murder Bran.

Although she tried to enter the city unnoticed, Petyr knew of her arrival and took her to a brothel.

There Petyr tells her that the dagger used to murder Bran was originally his, but he lost it to Tyrion Lannister in a bet.

This was a lie, which directly led to Catelyn's capture of Tyrion shortly afterwards and indirectly led to the subsequent War of the Five Kings.

Petyr brought Eddard to see his wife and persuaded him that since there was no clear evidence, it would be better to put the dagger issue aside for the time being. He also swore to Catelyn that he would help Eddard find the murderer of Jon Arryn.

During Eddard Stark's tenure as Hand of the King, Petyr tricked him into friendship,

both because of his feelings for Catelyn and because he directly warned Ned not to trust anyone in the Game of Thrones, including Petyr himself. He also helped Ned investigate the cause of Jon Arryn's death.

When King Robert Baratheon was mortally wounded, he appointed Ned Stark as Regent and Protector of the Realm.

Baelish advised Ned Stark to leave Queen Cersei's two sons alone.

Joffrey and Tommen Baratheon are not the king's biological sons.

Never mind that Stannis Baratheon is the heir apparent.

The best way to deal with it is to ensure that Joffrey ascends the throne smoothly to avoid a full-scale war and seize maximum power as regent.

Lord Eddard Stark rejects the offer, hoping to gain the City Watch's support through Petyr's help as he fights against Cersei.

Baelish agreed, but betrayed Ned at the last moment and switched sides to support Cersei, resulting in Ned's arrest and eventual beheading for treason.

After the assassination of King Renly Baratheon, Petyr and Tyrion Lannister decide to ally with the Tyrells.

In order to win the loyalty of those nobles in the Stormlands who are unwilling to serve King Stannis.

Petyr volunteers to go to Bitterbridge and convince them to form an alliance.

Petyr successfully forged the Lannister-Tyrell alliance by convincing both parties to agree to a marriage between King Joffrey and Margaery Tyrell.

He returns to King's Landing with the Tyrell army and Tywin Lannister's army at the same time.

The Lannister and Tyrell alliance attacked the rear of Stannis' army in the Battle of the Blackwater, which lasted for hours.

It was Petyr who had Garlan Tyrell dress as King Renly to cause panic among Stannis's troops during the battle.

In return, Petyr was made Lord of Harrenhal, although in reality Harrenhal was still under the control of Roose Bolton, a subordinate of Robb Stark.

Regardless, nominally becoming governor of the Riverlands made him one of the most prominent nobles in the war-torn region.

Petyr maintained contact with Sansa Stark through the Red Knight Ser Dontos, and had Dontos vaguely tell Sansa that he could take her home.

Petyr also received secret information about the royal family through Osney Kettleblack, Osfrey Kettleblack, and Osmund Kettleblack.

After Tyrion Lannister moved all of Queen Cersei's guards away, he hired the Kettleblack brothers to be Cersei's guards.

Tyrion thought they were paying him to be loyal to him, but in fact they were Petyr's men.

Littlefinger is one of the driving forces behind the War of the Five Kings, or even the main driving force behind it.

Even Varys rated him as one of the most dangerous men in the Seven Kingdoms.
