章 130: The Dragon Snake

“Are we there yet?” I asked Piper.

“Just a few more minutes.” she responds.

As she drives the car my fingers nails tap on the car’s arm. Looking out the window, a bunch of fog surrounds. For the last 30 minutes I haven’t been able to figure out where we are. These trees are more skinner, the air thinner and the feeling is eerie.

“So, do you know how all of this will go?” From the corner of my eye, I can see a permanent scowl on her face.

“You’ll do the ritual, and that will be that. Maybe they’ll let you go, maybe you’ll die.” She says that nonchalantly. Like me dying is so not a big deal, hell a person dying to her is probably not a big deal all the people she’s killed.

“Die? That wasn’t hard for you to say.”

“Honestly, I don’t care for you that much Quinn. I’m just doing my job.” She turns a corner up a long driveway.

I turn in my seat; she may choke me if I ask any more questions but I don’t really care. “Why are you so. . .mean? You have no remorse, no care for human life.” She suddenly stops the car; her body turns towards me. My eyes began to widen, oh god did I push her? That was a very personal and blunt question to ask someone. Especially a highly trained assassin that was trained by the greatest fighter in werewolf history, Sylo Sniper.

I watch her with such intendment. She unbuckles her seatbelt, that fiery red hair swish across her shoulders. She leans close to me, scared out of my mind, I flinch.

“You, ok?”

“I- I thought you were going to hit me.”

She laughs, “If I was going to hit you, I would have done it the first day I met you.” Her hands reach in the backseat and in her hand is a badge. I look out the window, I realize that were currently at a gate. A very big, and tall gate. In front of the gate there’s a huge castle.

“Jesus Christ.” I whisper to myself. It’s a black medieval castle, a bunch of guards dressed in all black surround it. This is where the King lives, where Sasha used to live. It looks like something out of a movie.

“It’s Piper Pryde, I’m here with the package.” She leans him to say into an intercom.

“Package? I’m a person.” She looks at me and rolls her eyes. Instead of replying to me, she starts up the car. The gate begins to open and she drives us in. As we pass the guards, they look at me, giving me curious and intriguing looks.

She stops the car in front of a medieval looking door. Out the door walks a man, he opens up the door for me, reaching out his hand to help me out.

“Thank you.” I say giving him a warm smile.

“You're welcome, ma’am.” He walks back to the door, standing stoic looks straight ahead. He’s been the nicest person to me, the only one that hasn’t looked at me like I had three heads or something.

“Come on.” Piper huffs. She walks rather quickly, so I find myself stumbling over my feet trying to keep up with her. If you thought the outside looked grand, the inside really does take the cake. Above us are high rise ceiling, bunches of pictures cover the walls. From the way they look I can tell they are telling stories. I see the sun, a pack of wolfs and some humans. I tear my eyes away from the ceiling, seeing Piper way ahead of me I run up to catch her.

Portraits of people decorate the wall; they look like they are from the Tudor era. Some even from the Georgian era. Lots of history resides in these halls, coming up to an open area I hear noises. Sounds of chants echo through the halls, who is that? Looking into the wide, open area I see a group of men, in a line, chanting something. It sounds like a foreign language.

I thought Alexander looked like a god, but these men look like actual Greek gods. There hairs are long, waves flow against their back. Their bodies have to have been sculpted by the god, they are so brawny and such powerful radiates off of them. In front of them stands a man, screaming at him some orders, I assume.

The has blonde hair, a stoic look paints on his face. What stands out to me is the eye patch, I wonder what happened to him? As I gawk at him, his eyes connect with mine. Cold, dead eyes rake over me, from the way he looks I can tell me knows who I am. Looking over the rest of his body, he wears a dark blue turtle neck with black jeans?

“Quinneth?!” Piper scream at me, ushering me to keep walking. I didn’t even realize I stopped walking.

“I’m coming. Hey, who is that man?”

“You really don’t know?” She asked me, opening up a door ushering me to go inside. I comply. I shake my head.

“That man. . .is known as the Dragon Snake.” Chills run through my body.

“He’s-”

“Sylo Sniper, yes.” She finishes up my sentence. Looking around at my surrounding I can see that we are in a bedroom. It looks like a bedroom off of Bridgeton.

“Why are we in here?”

“This is where you are staying, you didn’t think we were doing the ritual tonight did you?”

“I did, actually.”

“No, you’ll do it when the moon is in 34% of the waxing crescent.” I give her a weird look, she lies. “When The First Power was killed, it was under the waxing crescent, so the only way you can resurrect them is under the waxing crescent.” Make sense, so I’ll be here for like two days, perfect.

“But what does the moon have to do with their magic.”

“Selene, she’s the moon goddess, The First Power was made from her womb. There like her daughters in a way. It’s a whole thing I don’t understand it. Just. . .stay in here until were ready for you.” The door slams behind her, now it’s just me and his big room.

Alexander’s P.O.V.-

Opening my eyes, I see the bright sun burn them. Quickly, I move away from the sun, trying to readjust without it burning me. As I get adjusted and start to stretch, the apartment is silent. Too silent.

Where is Quinneth? The last time I saw her was when she was sitting at the table eating the leftover ratatouille. Walking out the room I let out a long overdue yawn. At the counter sit’s a touched plate of ratatouille. My fingers run on the side of the plate, it’s cold.

“Quinneth!” My voice carries throughout the apartment, no answer.

“Quinneth!”

Still, no answer.

“Oh god.” I rush over to the couch and call her grandpa. My feet tap against the floor, can this man hurry up and answer his phone.

“Hello.”

“Hey milo, uh by any chance is Quinneth there?” I hear nothing, until he finally says something.

“No, I haven’t seen her since you both came over to- well you know.” I do.

“Well, she isn’t here. I’ve searched everything, and I even texted her phone and nothing.”

“Don’t panic, she might me out buying something from the store.”

“No, somethings wrong. I- I can feel it.” With us being mates, I can kind of feel her emotions.

“Call Lyra, she’ll know.” I hang up the phone, calling Lyra immediately.
