Ava sat on the bus with her head leaned against the window. She was back to taking the bus because she had left the car that Mason bought her at his penthouse.

A sad smile curled up her lips as she stared at the man who was in the seat in front of her with his teenage daughter he was helping her with her homework the scene reminded Ava of when her father used to help her with her homework when she was little.

Her father... He would have still been alive if... Mason didn't hit them that night.

She has been thinking about what Maddie said about giving Mason a chance to explain himself. Maddie had a point but Ava felt too hurt to face Mason and hear him out.

When the bus got to her school bus stop, Ava dragged herself off her seat and sluggishly walked to her class. She didn't feel like being in school, but for the test that she had missed, Layla had told her that the lecturer was willing to give her a makeup test today.
