"Alright, so I got to thinking about what we could export out of Dawnstar, and I came up with an idea that I think we can all get behind. It'll be... a bit of a risk, and a bit of a dangerous idea considering whom our competition would be, but I think the profits outweigh the risk."
Looking around at the occupants of the table, I smiled softly as I placed an empty bottle of mead down, before placing some Snowberries on the table as well, instantly drawing everyones attention as they caught on to what I was suggesting.
"Berry wine would be really easy to make, especially if we can get that grain to grow so that we can make yeast. Snowberries grow in abundance here, and if we make wine from them, we could serve this 'exotic' flavor to everyone else since Snowberries grow sparsely everywhere else. Except for Winterhold and Windhelm, this is where you find them the most, and those two Holds are more focused on magic and fishing respectively. So this... this is ripe for the taking for Dawnstar."
"But why would wine be dangerous? Because of the Black Briars? Honningbrew Meadery? Goldenglow Estate? What would they do-?"
"They would send someone to shut down the productions, steal the recipe and ensure that we weren't encroaching on the market that they monopolize. Additionally, there is the Jazbay Grapes we could grow as well to make our own version of Alto Wine, but the problem is growing enough of either to provide a sustainable market..."
Honestly, I could produce and provide enough for the entire city to drink for a week straight if I had the ingredients, but I really don't want to, and this is one of the things that this city is able to provide the world past Horker steaks and tusks, which are really dangerous to get.
Brina frowned at that, the cautionary Jarl not particularly drawn in by the idea of conflict with someone like Maven Black Briar, which I understood, but if she wanted to create something worthwhile in this city, that was her key item that she could use to make a mark on Skyrim.
"So I say we focus on the easier to grow, and more bountiful Snowberry to create a wine to sell to the world. And if our grains grow really well, and we have enough, we could make some harder liquor too to ship out for a premium. Otherwise, there isn't much inside Dawnstar besides iron and quicksilver, which are lucrative enough but not... incredible. Quicksilver maybe, but only the Elves would buy it from us, and... I would suggest remaking neutral unless absolutely necessary."
"Aye... I still don't like the idea of getting into a conflict with others for profit, not when it could endanger everyone inside the city... Perhaps we should shelf that idea for now, and instead focus on just getting the city up and running. What are you going to be doing for the foreseeable future, Jeleia?"
"Not much. Waiting for Rayya to return before heading back down south to Falkreath. I am getting a bit... encumbered here, after all."
I smiled softly at the Jarl as I stroked my stomach, the baby inside still growing to be big and strong despite its Mother being quite the cockslut at the moment... though, perhaps that would prove to be fruitful when I actually decided to level up again~?
"When is she meant to return? We do require your aid to ensure everything works smoothly..."
The others - Beitild, Captain Wayfinder, Frida, Horik, Madena and Rusteilf - all nodded at that, each of them either thinking about the sex they would be missing out on or the help that I provided to the city through my magic and ideas.
"Dunno. A week, perhaps? That's more than enough time to get everything ready. I think I need to get a few Soul Gems filled up to finish what I want... are there any Giants in the area? Or any spots that are filled with Horkers?"
The discussion continued to go on into the night as we went over plans for the city and plans to set up a brewery, which would require a lot of preparations and a lot of secrecy to keep Maven from striking early.
Whew~
