The other reason I wanted to hunt was to get some good meat and pelts for our home; the meat just so I didn't need to spend money, and the pelts for some good blankets or robes.

A good cut of venison might only be around 15 coins for a pound, but that adds up when you feed multiple mouths; especially multiple pregnant mouths.

With that in mind, Aela and I were rather determined to get a deer or two today, and we snuck through the forest silently.

Remaining behind her, I tried to emulate her technique, learning along the way how to actually tread quietly on the forest floor, while also learning the right posture for this to avoid muscle cramps and strains.

We had gone pretty far when we encountered our first animal; a large, barrel chested buck that grazed lazily on the grass.

Peering back at me, Aela nodded before gesturing to the deer, and we both nocked our arrows back and shot at the same time.

Both our arrows slammed into the deers neck, and the large animal let out a weak, wet cry as it stumbled around for a few moments, before it fell onto its side.

Grinning at one another, we slunk forwards and began to inspect the animal, Aela's grin growing as she whispered "I might actually move up here for good sooner then I thought... the hunting is great! Look, the quality of the antlers is incredible! And the pelt is so soft..."

Nodding, I glanced back at Viaka, who joined us and stared at the dead deer, her eyes neutral as she matched Aela's tone, whispering "Shall I carry it back now?"

The two turned to me, and I frowned as I asked "Aela, should we continue?"

I had gotten a Soul from that, so that was a success, but I had forgotten to take into account the large size of these animals, and while I could just toss it into my inventory, I didn't want to make Aela and Viaka feel useless on this trip.

Pursing her lips, Aela looked at the deer before whispering "Let's hang the deer up in a tree and go on for a little longer, before coming back for it. Maybe one or two more..."

Nodding, we watched as Viaka lifted the deer up like it was nothing and slung it over a branch, the blood seeping from the two arrow wounds on its neck.

"We need to be quick. Sabercats might not be common around here, same with bears, but we don't want to risk it."

With that, we set off into the forest again, managing to find a pair of deer that we killed instantly, alongside some Blue Butterflies, Red and Blue Mountain Flowers, Tundra Cotton and some Dragons Tongue.

Harvesting the alchemical ingredients, I followed behind the others as we made our way home, three deer richer and with a rather satisfying, non sexual exercise completed.
