章 22: A Friend

EN: You know the drill. AN at the end

After the event of yesterday, they got to rest until the next day. The classroom was boisterous as usual with the number of noises made by Class-A. Izuku was with his standard group, except there is Tsu with them now. It is composed of Izuku, Momo, Ochako and Tsu having a fun time chatting away. They were discussing about their quirks and how to improve them.

"Izuku, is there anything that can control your quirk except your glasses and bracelet?" Momo asked him.

Izuku was in deep thought and you can almost hear puzzles being solved one by one.

"There is… I think." Izuku looks at their group.

"What is it, Izu-san?" Tsu asked him after the event yesterday it seems she has been keen on calling him "san" instead of "chan". Tsu said that "chan" was for a friend so it is confusing to Izuku why he has a "san" on his name.

"Think?" Ochako was close to him. His heart was jumping when she was that close and it seems Ochako does not mind at all.

"Y-Yeah, probably an axe." Izuku remembered the axe that he called when he was fighting against Sunshine.

"Where is it?" Ochako asked.

"I am not sure, it was gone and I have no idea where it was now but I am sure it is there somewhere." Izuku trusting his instincts if there was something that can stop Sunshine, it was Rhitta alone.

"There are many axes in the world, Izuku." Momo was thinking about how to help him but there was too much vagueness in that statement.

"This is what it looks like." Izuku draws an axe with quite a length and what it makes standout was it has a handle and a unique design.

"I will ask my friends about it." Ochako took a picture of it and sent it to her friends and her social media too.

"Thanks, Ochako." He gives Ochako a pat on her head and she looks elated as he did so.

"I am going to give my parents a call for this." Momo said and she looks like she is expecting something.

"Thank you, Momo." He pats Momo with his other hand while Tsu is looking at them.

"I will go look for them when I have free time and she went to Izuku's side and rest her head on his shoulders." As this was happening Aizawa-sensei came to the room.

They went back to their seats and listened to him.

"Today, we will be discussing who will be the class president." The mere mention of the class president and the class turned to a battlefield. Everyone wants to be one.

It was inevitable as thinking of the highest class and being the president of it was something of a different proportion.

"Let us make a voting system. Vote in a piece of paper which you want to be a president and among the highest three, we will choose from them." Aizawa-sensei calmed them down as they were turning into chirping birds.

They passed their papers and almost all of them had one vote except Izuku, who has 5 votes. The candidates were Iida, Momo and Izuku and they are going to make speeches about it.

"Go first, Iida. Convince them the reason you have to be the president." Aizawa-sensei said to Iida.

"The president must not be biased along with any classmates, he should be a role model and people must think he deserves it. I believe I had what it takes to handle the position!" Iida ended it with energy so high that his classmates shouted back.

"Yaoyorozu…go" Aizawa-sensei was already on his comfy sleeping bag while saying so.

"I do not want to win and going to cast my vote to Izuku. I know him for a while he can be an excellent leader. He controlled the students in the cafeteria when there was almost a stampede. He halted the situation before it turned into a mess, I get it why people want to vote for me. Thank you but I cast my vote to Izuku." Momo sat on her chair once she was done.

Aizawa-sensei just motioned Izuku to go.

"I actually voted for Iida as I can say that he will be a good president and I do not know how I got that many votes. Meeting Iida and he is always serious with his work and ensures the classroom with his presence." Izuku wanted Iida to win as he believes he does not have what it takes for the role.

"Midoriya-san, thank you." Iida went to Izuku and raised his hand and pointed at him.

"Izuku is now our president!" Izuku was startled and Momo clapped being followed by the class one by one.

"I appoint Iida as the vice-president. Please watch over me as I fulfill my role." Izuku bowed to Iida.

"Leave it to me, president." Iida thumped his chest.

A few minutes later they were tasked to bring papers here and there.

"Midoriya-kun, thank you." Iida said to him.

"Why?" Izuku was wondering.

"You picked me when it was not that necessary." Iida was smiling but there was something else there.

"I mean it though. Iida-san, you are a really hardworking and serious person and I am probably sure you will win by a landslide if I never interfered in the cafeteria." Izuku looked straight at him with dignity and pride.

"I see." Iida looked at him and laugh.

"Then I will watch your actions from now on, president." Iida smiled but this time of satisfaction.

"I count you to it, vice president." Izuku answered back.

~Iida's Point of View~

When we were doing the voting, I am against two strong opponents as first it was Yaoyorozu-san who was the smartest in the class and the number one in the exam. The second was Midoriya-kun who is a powerhouse and certainly a womanizer.

'Him being a womanizer has nothing to do with me. It seems he can satisfy his women around him.'

Iida looks at Izuku doing headpats to Uraraka-san, Yaoyorozu-san and Asui-san.

'I just wish they will not do it inside the classroom as all women are looking at them intently and it seems that some guys are resenting Midoriya-kun for hogging all the women.'

They cannot do anything about it as the women around Izuku are highly protective of him.

Coming back to the election, I can tell I made a good speech. Yaoyorozu-san was next and he gave the spot to Midoriya-san.

Midoriya-san did an unexpected thing and voted me to be president when Yaoyorozu-san explained why Midoriya-san has to be a president. From there I knew it was my loss.

'He helped Uraraka-san at the cost of his body and guided the students as they almost went into a stampede. All I did was watch,'

Now I proclaimed my resignation and assigned the position to Midoriya-san but he made me the vice-president.

'He is truly kind and even at these times he thinks even for his opponents.'

It looks like it was a pity coming from him and I know he has good intentions but I just cannot help it.

"I mean it though. Iida-san, you are a really hardworking and serious person and I am probably sure you will win by a landslide if I never interfered in the cafeteria."

When he said those words, I looked at him. Midoriya-san was not a scheming person. He was a person honest at fault. All my feelings that felt I was being pitied were all gone.

"Then I will watch your actions from now on, president." I truly meant those words. We spoke about my brother about who is also a hero. Midoriya-san is a huge hero fan and I respect him for it.

'I will help you in my best of ability, President.'

A/N: For being late these past few days, I was having interviews left and right. Expect a right schedule when next week comes.

Also, the reason why I choose Ilda as the vice and not Momo because Izuku needs some good friends too.
