The illusion of George battling the mercenaries was like something out of an action movie, with the illusionary George dodging multiple attackers at once, dispatching foes in swift, lethal strikes. For some inexplicable reason, the illusion performed an impressive number of backflips as it fought.
Akshar nudged Peyton, his brow furrowing as he rubbed his eyes. "Something feels…off."
Peyton nodded, suspicion tingling at the back of his mind. There was something strange about the display, but at first, he couldn't pinpoint what it was. Then, as he watched the flashing blades and swift movements, it hit him—the clash of swords made no sound. The actual battle sounds came from somewhere else entirely, on the opposite side of the battlefield.
