"I slept with someone in Africa!" I blurted out when I couldn't take the guilt anymore.

Emily froze with her mouth hanging open and her eyes darting from one space to another.

She closed her mouth and dimmed her eyes at me.

"Congratulations" it sounded more like a question than a statement then she came closer and tapped my shoulder before folding her fist for a bump. "Congratulations, buddy" 

Okay, what the hell was going on? Where is the fire and the brimstone? Where are the tears and the words to make my guilt even more?

I had expected this to go differently, I had expected her to take it differently yet all my future wife did was stare at me with amused eyes and countenance that showed me she was fighting an urge to laugh.
