章 32: Life as a Trainer 3

It's been a month since Philip caught seedot. A lot has happened since then. Torchic officially became mid tier class Pokemon. It's stats were near the upper half in the mid tier in the 70s.

Torchic learned ember, flame burst, fire spin, quick attack, hidden power, and double team. It also worked with eevee to fight together as a team. At the start Torchic wasn't really close with Austin like eevee and togepi. It saw that eevee would sleep in Austin's chest. Togepi would rest in his pouch. Togepi was very dependent on him.

Torchic was satisfied with Austin and even got close to him when it noticed it's strength increase by a lot. Austin also has a lot of its favorite berries that are dry and bitter. The only issue was that torchic still had that hostile nature and would offen fight with eevee. It was constantly on the losing end through and this is what made austin feel relieved.

Eevee strength increase was also impressive its size increased from 0.6m to 0.8m. Eevee was officially one of the largest of its kind. This might be due to the weight training and battles. It mastered work up and Iron tail. It learned shadow ball with the help of another trainers Pokemon showing it how. The biggest surprise was that it awakened adaptability. That meant that all normal type moves get a boost.

Eevee's stats were in the high seventies with speed being the highest in the eighties. Austin thought Pokemon don't grow and remain the same size. When he search the net he found that a research study saw physical growth overtime for most Pokemon types except ghost, rock, and steal types.

Also he learned that most Pokemon have a growth phase and if they don't evolve during this phase they never will. For example caterpie has a life span of 3 months and usually it will evolve within the first month. If it doesn't evolve during that time then it won't evolve. Each individual Pokemon have there own growth phase and this depends on the Pokémon's potential. That's why many people love shiny Pokemon they have high potential so that means a longer growth phases.

Austin's eevee also mastered protect, reflect, helping hand, Swift, and headbutt. Austin tried teaching it ice beam or aurora beam. Sadly it seems eevee is not like other normal types like meowth and zigzagoon. It can't learn ice beam nor other ice moves. It didn't matter much though it's move set is already strong and it's fighting ability is much better thank other Pokemon.

Togepi grew slower as it didn't train as much but Austin spent more time around people and took more missions to guard parties and marriages in the park. These happy moments increased togepi's stored strength. It won't show now but once it evolves this energy will place it above others.

Togepi surprisingly knew secret power as well. After understanding it he found some notes on how to teach it. He is planning to teach this move to eevee. Austin believed the moves like hidden power and secret power can help increase a Pokémon's evolution quality.

Austin also looked different he actually grew a few centimeters in this month. His frame was very fit. He was very well proportioned and had muscles all over. This was just the beginning. Austin also discovered something as with his hidden power, as long as his feet were on the ground he could run faster. The growth of his hidden power was barely noticeable but he felt that as it grew so does his recovery rate.

To Austin this month was really productive he completed his first prototype of the portable healing capsule. It was a failure but he wasn't discouraged. The mini satellite antenna did connect with the storage pc and internet. He even had a connection outside the city-State, although not more that 100 meters from the gate. He felt it was too heavy and this defeats the purpose. He also failed to find porygons or rotoms in an online shops where trainers put up thing to trade or sell(think craigslist).

Austin also added a new project. It was something fun he made in his past life. It was a sunglasses that had installed Bluetooth to connect to devices. It can be used to receive calls and listen to music. It also had two other awesome features. The first was built in night vision. The second was heat vision. This was something he wanted to remake. He was planning to attach a very high quality camera and connect it to his Pokédex. He hoped in the future instead of pulling out his Pokédex to scan he can just automatically get the info to appear on the lens.

Author note: ( I mean in this world the Pokemon won't wait for you to scan it. It might just bit your head off while you pull it out)

During this month Phillip joined Austin for training. They even had a small battle. Austin's eevee won all Pokemon and rank first. Surprisingly Torchic lost to meowth and became third. Austin was surprised by the level meowth reached. The only reason Torchic lost was that even though it was winning instead of finishing the meowth off with an ember, it charged rashly for a pick. Meowth who was at a disadvantage used pay day then hidden power which was water attributed.

Austin berated Torchic before giving it a lot of berries to feast on. Phillip kept Austin updated with the events of the rest of the rookies. Hugo caught a magnemite and tamed it easily. Jacob also caught a pidgey. They all battled and Jacob was the strongest out of them. He was the second best in the group in Philip's opinion.

Austin found out that Ginnette and Hugo are a couple now. They planned to move out this week. Jacob was also planning to move out soon. He had his 3 Pokemon poochyena, growlithe, and pidgey. Too bad he with the rules of the league a D-class trainer can only keep two Pokemon out at the same time. The rest must be in the pokeballs. That's one of the reasons Austin did not catch a new Pokemon. He decided to wait until he becomes a C-class trainer before he gets a new addition.

Austin had money to move out but he didn't plan on doing that. He had his eyes set on a piece of land. Once he made enough money he will go apply to buy it. Austin was currently in the training ground today was a no mission day. Only training and rest.

As Austin was trying to meditate he heard someone call him.

"Austin something good happened!"Philip yelled.
