Ash, "Annihilape Rage fist."
Pryce, "Hail."
Annihilape attacked using rage fist and Lapras used hail which Annihilape was breaking with his punches. Annihilape reached Lapras who attacked him by creating hail and attacking him up close. Annihilape jumped from the hail in front of him and broke the second one and moved closer while Lapras moved and dodged from the attack. It had the audience on the edge on their seats as Annihilape and Lapras moved across the battlefield.
Ash, "Focus energy Annihilape. Absorb it, like we practiced."
Annihilape nodded, "Ann."
Pryce, "Don't let him succeed Lapras. Ice beam."
Annihilape narrowed his eyes and jumped away from the ice beam and moved around the battlefield. The fight became more intense better the two, with neither side giving an inch to the other. Lapras finally had enough and used water gun followed by sheer cold on the ground making Annihilape pause. Then the ghost type realized what his opponent was trying to do and moved to hit him with his strongest attack, shadow punch. The punch landed on Lapras just as Annihilape was frozen solid by the combo move. Lapras gave a shriek of pain as he stumbled backwards and fell to the ground before getting up wincing.
Gou winced, "Ooooh!"
Max, "That looked really painful and cold."
Lucario nodded at Cyndaquill, -Thanks for keeping us warm Cyndaquill, we appreciate it.-
Pikachu, "Pika pika pikapi."
Cyndaquill, "Quill cynda cyndaquill."
Sheila was observing the field, "Annihilape is unable to continue. Lapras has won the first round. Choose your next Pokemon."
Lokoko appeared at that moment, -I am back and... Oh my!-
Max, "Welcome back Lokoko. Did you have fun checking the town out?"
Lokoko, -Yes, I did though you all seem to be having your own fun here.-
Gou, "Sit with us Lokoko."
Lokoko, -Here, I got hot chocolate. I figured you would need some.-
Ash, "Return Annihilape, thank you buddy."
Magmar made grabby hands, "Mag mag magmar."
Ash raised the pokeball, "You want to warm him up?"
Magmar nodded and held the freezing cold pokeball and started to thaw it, "Mag... "
Pryce eyed the large Ninetales then decided to address her later, "Are you alright Lapras?"
Lapras stood tall and proud, "Laaaaap."
Pryce nodded, "Shall we continue?"
Ash took back the warmed pokeball, "Yes, let's go Lapras."
Pryce's eyes glinted, "Oh ho!"
Lapras was excited on seeing the younger Lapras, he was looking forward to how the young one would do. The ghost monkey certainly gave him a run for his money and almost beat him too, unluckily for Annihilape and luckily for Lapras, he had the advantage of the environment. Ash's Lapras looked at the older one and eyed him up and down before raising his head high. He would not go down without a fight and certainly not without taking his opponent down. Sagged warned him, Ace level Pokemon were just another level entirely, a little below Champion level Pokemon.
Sheila, "Begin!"
Ash, "Psychic."
Pryce, "Lapras break free using hydro pump."
Pryce's Lapras trashed around before attacking towards Ash's Lapras direction making him move. Ash's Lapras broke the psychic move and moved away from the hydro pump which created a crater close to where he was before the water froze. Pryce's Lapras shook his body feeling his defense and health go down thanks to the psychic attack from the younger Pokemon. The older Lapras was honestly speaking impressed, he knew his opponent was young, not even two years old really but already knew a psychic move.
Pryce, "Very impressive, young man. I believe Lapras is your only ice type Pokemon?"
Ash nodded, "Yes, but he, we are very serious about becoming strong. I promised Lapras he would be the strongest Lapras in the Orange Archipelago."
Pryce's eyes glinted, "That is a very big goal indeed. I am very interested on how far you are going to go. After this do remember to keep in touch."
Ash, "I have a strong feeling you will be seeing my Lapras a lot. He wants to be a strong leader, so I was hoping he could train under you from time to time."
Ash's Lapras nodded, he had sensed the power coming from the Ice type Pokemon who were trained for gym battles. Though the Pokemon trained for gym badge battle were not as powerful, their strong aura was very noticeable. Lapras was definitely visiting for more training, he had talked with Lucario and Meema about it and Meema encouraged him to become stronger. His Meema always emphasised how important it was to learn and keep on learning new things if he wanted to become a powerful leader like his Alpha, back at Orange Archipelago.
Pryce, "Good plan. I don't mind, actually my Lapras looks very interested in yours so I have a feeling he won't mind."
True to Pryce's words, the older Lapras was looking at the younger one with a lot of expectation. It was not always you met a Lapras who was focused on battling and strength, most Lapras were docile. In fact, there were very few trainers with Lapras in Jhoto and except for two or three the others were more interested in ferrying their trainers through water or contests. Pryce's Lapras won't begrudge them their choice, they were happy and healthy but a fighter was a rare treat. He would gladly guide him if it meant he would have a battle partner.
Pryce, "Ice beam."
Ash, "Double team."
Gou was sitting tense, "Misty is gonna flip when I upload this to the group chat."
Max, "Understatement."
Breloom was holding Max, "Loom bre."
Kirlia, -Still such powerful ice aura. Even with Cyndaquill keeping us warm. I can still feel the biting cold.-
Lokoko, -I agree young one. Even I would have trouble battling against this cold, despite the type advantage.-
Green who had joined them, "No shit. I just entered the room and the first thing everyone saw was the cold mist. The workers have decided to keep the upper windows open to keep everything from freezing over."
Gou, "How is Casey doing?"
Green, "She's good, though she almost caught hypothermia."
Max chuckled, "Note to self, always keep a fire type close if planning on battling an ice type gym."
Ash, "Dragon dance Lapras."
Pryce, "Rain dance."
Both Lapras started to dance the two powerful dances to increase their strength making cold wind blow everywhere. Green shivered and called her Flareon who shivered from the cold environment as well before increasing his body heat. Green cuddled with him while Lokoko decided to join her fire aura with Cyndaquill who was still tired from his previous battle. The little tyke kept the warmth going at a steady rate despite the exhaustion, then again Ash did train his Pokemon on endurance very heavily. For situations when they get separated, was what Ash told her, very practical if someone were to ask her.
Ash, "Dragon rage."
Pryce, "Let's end it, rock smash."
The audience watched tense, it was obvious this was the ending move and watched as Ash's Lapras was buried under a large pile of rock. Pryce's Lapras was on the other hand was hit by the powerful dragon type attack taking him out of the battle area. They waited for the snow white dust to settle and saw both Lapras were out cold from the two powerful attacks. Pryce was very impressed, it normally took challengers three Pokemon to take his Lapras out of commission, the young Lapras had potential.
Sheila, "Both Lapras are unable to battle. Now choose your next Pokemon for the final match up."
Pryce, "Let's go Piloswine."
Ash, "Hey Lucario. It's your turn. You have not had an ace battle in a long time."
Pikachu perked up grinning, "Pika pikapi."
Lucario snorted, -Yes, thank you brother. It will be your turn in the next gym.-
Lucario got up and walked towards the battlefield with purpose, -I look forward to battling you.-
Pryce smirked, "Well then let's see who will win."
Lucario took a battle stance, -Yes.-
Piloswine, "Lo."
Ash, "Let's do this."
Sheila, "Begin."
Ash, "Agility."
Pryce, "Powder snow."
The powder snow made the cold weather even more colder making Lucario shiver but it didn't stop him from using agility to attack Piloswine. Piloswine was no pushover and used double team to confuse Lucario while he prepared ancient power to attack. Ash called for bone rush and Lucario used it to fight against ancient power by hitting them away from him. It reminded Max of baseball when Lucario hit them away to protect himself from the attack and moved away.
Ash, "Metal claw."
Pryce, "Stone edge."
Ash noticed the cold had made the stone edge more sharp and more dangerous. He knew that the environment gave Pokemon certain advantages but this was too high even for him. Lucario though he noticed, was enjoying the battle from the gleam in his eyes as he weaved around the field. Lucario jumped from the ice pillars using aura sphere to attack Piloswine who retaliated using ancient power. The fight was fast and quick as both Pokemon battled.
Pryce, "Giga impact."
Ash, "Dark pulse."
Lokoko, -They are not holding back, are they?-
Gou, "Nope, both Pokemon as you can see are skilled in their own fields. They are almost evenly matched."
Max, "Really?"
Green, "Yeah, Piloswine unfortunately has the upper hand with more experiences than Lucario. Of course, Lucario is no pushover either and is giving as good as he got."
Sheila had moved away from the battlefield seeing the dangerous attacks fly around from the two Pokemon. It would not be safe for her to remain that close to the fight even though she was the referee. Lucario used aerial ace to hit Piloswine who used take down and both Pokemon were at a standstill, the power coming off in waves. The two Pokemon separated and used the moves again trying to take the other down. Kirlia winced on hearing the slamming coming from the battle but couldn't take his eyes off of Lucario. He had been planning on evolving into Gallade a psychic fighting type.
Kirlia, -So strong. I want to be that strong.-
Max, "We will Kirlia. We will become that strong, you'll see."
Breloom nodded, "Loom breloom."
Ash, "Sword dance."
Pryce, "Hail, freeze the young upstart."
Lucario twitched at that and started to use sword dance while avoiding the hail which was a little annoying. Piloswine had to give the fighting type credit, most Pokemon would have frozen by now thanks to his ice moves or shaking from the cold. Lucario though kept moving despite the low temperatures, a true testament to the intense training he and Ash did with Lapras. But as every battle, even theirs must come to an end.
Ash, "Aura sphere. Give it your all Lucario."
Lucario, -With pleasure.-
Pryce, "Use take down to end this."
While Lucario created the aura sphere Piloswine charged and Lucario used the aura sphere to punch the ice slash ground type Pokemon. The clash resulted in an explosion of cold snow that Magmar shielded his partner from using his body. Pryce and the others however were not that lucky and we're covered in the cold snow. Pryce being used to the cold had no problem while the fire Pokemon used a variation of overheat to melt the snow away. On the battlefield both Piloswine and Lucario were staring at each other before both fell fainting.
Sheila, "Piloswine and Lucario are unable to battle. This match is a draw. There is no winners."
Ash rushed to Lucario, "Lucario... Ah, you are freezing."
Made patted Ash's hand, "Mag magmar."
Ash, "Thanks buddy. I'm giving you all a really good treat after this."
Lucario, -I'm ok, just cold.-
Pryce, "You alright old friend?"
Piloswine nodded, "Lo."
Pryce, "That was a great battle young man. I really look forward to battling you again."
Ash, "It was fun. Though we should probably get warmed up now."
Max was shivering, "Yeah."
Gou, "We are all kind of wet and cold here."
Pryce laughed, "That's what Ace level battles are like and Champion level Pokemon battles can change the entire geography of an area."
Green, "Understatement."
